The North East England in the 1960s
The North East England of the 1960s might be familiar with the coal mining, steel making, ship building and train manufacturing that served generations stretching from the Tees to the Tyne and the book here serves as a remainder of what once thrived is now mostly a memory together with the terrace slums of industrial towns and cities and the dock side cranes and coaling staithes. The book is A5 paperback format while the pages are gloss together with the author's introduction. All the photos I see are black and white and reproduction is at an acceptable standard together with the usual brief and informative captions. The let down about the book is that few pages are sometimes 50-75% blank. These nitpicks aside, its all good.
