Campbell Brady 1-1/2 in. FPT Acetal Plastic Foot Foot Valve

This was the second version, the first failed after the spring controlling the check valve broke in 3 places. I attributed it to age and replaced it with the same model. Pump performance was reduced as I believe the check valve was not opening correctly. I disassembled the part and found that the stainless spring controlling the check valve was also broken! This had to come from the factory this way and, based on the construction, was probably caused by improper assembly.Replaced it with a brass foot valve and performance picked up immediately.

I purchased this foot valve three months ago and unfortunately it only has a one month warranty. It worked fine until the spring that prevents the water from backing up has broken.Ordered another and the spring broke in less time than the first. Ordered a different brand this time and will see how it goes.

I have used these for 25 years at the end of my saltwater intake for my lobster tanks. I only pump at high tide and the foot valve keeps my line primed when I shut down. The only thing is after a few seasons the thin stainless spring fails and I have to buy a new valve. These are good and I never buy anything else.

Seals up quickly

Use on our lake pump. No more priming. Saves lots of waiting time. Have had for a few years now.
