desertcart.com: My Big Fat Fake Engagement: 9798649563864: Landish, Lauren, Clifton, Valorie, Etheridge, Staci: Books Review: Light and STEAMY - My favorite read from Lauren Landish so far? Quite possibly. It's light, steamy, and a lot of fun. Landish knows how to write a rom com, with playful antics and a heavy dose of sexy. This brother's best friend/fake relationship romance is lighthearted and everything you could want from the trope - it's definitely a play on a familiar storyline, but distinctly the author's style. I enjoyed it from start to finish. The story follows Kaede, a gym owner who is seeking out a business partner to build the brand. When a potential investor hints that the deal will only be sealed if Kaede dates his over the top daughter, Kaede panics and claims he's engaged. The only woman who comes to mind is his best friend's little sister, Courtney. She's considered to be a workaholic and a bit of an ice queen, but neither of those things deters Kaede. He's always found her attractive, but bro code means that she's completely off-limits. But when Courtney agrees to go along with the ruse and her longtime crush on Kaede is exposed, it makes things even more complicated. I love both fake relationship and brother's best friend romances, so this combination really worked for me. It's low angst and a lot sexy, with more steam than you typically find in a rom com but all of the other things I love about the genre. Landish was able to give the relationship plenty of depth, so while there were a couple of times when I thought the lust was overtaking the story, it settled into a nice, heartwarming read. It moves quickly and stays fun throughout with minimal angst. While this is part of a series, it's easily read as a standalone - though those who are familiar with the series will love the involvement of characters from the previous books. If you're looking for a light, STEAMY rom com, then this is certainly worth a read. I received an ARC via the author (then purchased it for my collection) and am voluntarily leaving a review of this light romance. Review: Fake romance turned real - Good book! Courtney and Kaede have known each other forever. Kaede is Courtney’s brother’s best friend and business partner. Courtney is heir to Andrews Holdings, a billion dollar company. While look to expand their business, Kaede and Ross sign with an investor, and he infers Kaede should marry his father. Kaede says he’s already engaged to Courtney and the games begin. Kaede and Courtney are entertaining characters and the story flows well. This is a very enjoyable book. Lauren really did a good job with developing all the characters and keeping them rememberable. The story about the shrimp in the enemy’s apartment grossed me out and made me wish I had a friend who knew such devious plans! My only criticism of this book is that it starts dragging at about 89%. The climax happens early and the last 11% drags. A few more sex scenes could have kept the story moving a little better at the end. Overall, this is a good book. The plot is well developed and enjoyable. I definitely think you should give it a go. Happy reading y’all!!

book 2 another great read with an HEA
I never have to worry when I buy Lauren’s books. They are always well written, funny, and pull you in from the beginning and push me to finish them fast (1-2 days) max. Overview: Kaede and Courtney’s story. Kaede is Ross’s best friend and partner for school, work, and now starting a new gym business. Courtney is Ross’s youngest sister and worked at the family company and took over the VP roll. But Courtney has always had a crush on him, but knew it would be hard to cross the lines between work and boyfriend. But when Kaede and Ross go into a business deal for their new gym and the investor wants his daughter to date Kaede to date, Kaede takes a stand and tell him he can’t since he is engaged to Courtney. After the meeting Ross freaks out and Kaede has to convince Courtney to go along with being his future wife and play his current girlfriend. The two find perfect rhythm in life except 1 part….Kaede feels he will never be good enough for her since he was raised poor and by a single mom, even though the Andrews (Ross’s family) love him for who he really is. But will he ever over come that and except Courtney as an equal partner?

This books is romantic and sweet
Courtney is a sophisticated businesswoman who works hard and downs thane any time for fun. She has the hots for her brother's best friend, Kaede. After an oops, he announces they are engaged, much to her brother's surprise. The fake engagement works out after they hash out the details. Courtney agrees to go along with it even though she secretly is in love or lust with Kaede. Everything is going great in their fake engagement until someone drops an unexpected bomb. Can they fix it, or will it be the end? Since this book focuses primarily on Courtney and Kaede. I loved how it was in the dual point of view, jumping between their thoughts. This really helped me to better understand both character's personalities and quirks. They really were a match made in heaven, and the sorry is very written. I do love a happy ending, and this story didn't disappoint. They had quite a few hurdles to get thru. Still, the author incorporated those very well in the stories And the character's personalities.

My Big Fat Fake Engagement Review
My Big Fat Fake Engagement was a cute story and a wonderful continuation of the series. I love a good fake relationship. Kaede and Courtney were so cute. It was nice to read a story where two type A people end up together. Overall a good read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Boss babe. Ice Queen. That’s what they call me at the office. But there’s one man who has secretly melted me for years. Kaede McWarren. The only problem? He’s my big brother’s best friend. But when he asks me to play his fiancée to seal a business deal? Oh, I’m taking this gift horse and riding it while I can. He’s got the whole tall, handsome, and intense thing down pat… with a side of quiet mystery and sexy brains to boot. He’s everything I want. Everything I need. It should be easy—a business arrangement between two Type-A workaholics. A few dinner dates here, a few kisses there, and none will be the wiser. But if his business partner finds out it’s fake, he’s screwed. And if my brother finds out it’s real, he might be dead. There are a hundred ways to lose, but when I’m in his arms, I feel like I’ve already won.

Unnecessarily storylines included
Longer than it really needed to be. It had a lot of extra drama, twists and turns thatbi honestly felt was unnecessary. I loved the main storyline though because they both had found each other attractive before the agreement which to me made the transition easier and more believable. One thing I must say is that the author made the characters very sexy on their own- the H was not talkative but was intelligent and very aware. He was also a gym owner and kept himself in great shape. The h was described in a very sexy manner, curves for days and very intelligent and she held her own and was highly regarded by all in the book. BUT...When they got together for their sexy time it was so blah! Like the ultimate goal wasn't for the sec to be steamy but only to get to the end goal. Disappointing!! Authors need to give their sexy characters their sexy times together, let's create some steam!!!

Wasn't expecting this
Sometimes you read a boom because it's sounds interesting, sometimes the cover grabs you, sometimes it's on a reading list or a recommendation, and sometimes you pick up a book because it was a book from a list to choose from to complete a reading task. I didn't grab this book thinking I would enjoy it as much as I did. I grabbed it because it seemed the best and most doable from the list I was given. And I am so glad that I did read it. I will be continuing on with this series AND this author. I really love it when you can find a new reading rabbit hole to fall down, especially when it's almost purely by accident. I love that there was no unnecessary 3rd act breakup, I love that they just fit together and there was no angst or miscommunication. This just hit the spot, right when I needed it.

Kaede 💕Courtney
I really loved this book filled with love friendship family and laughter. Courtney works at her Family's business Andrews Consolidated shes a hard worker has a presentation for ArgoStar everything goes down hill but it doesnt stop her from doing what she loves. Kaede and Ross are partners for One Life Gym its there baby lol they go met with Mr Sanders for the proposal for the gym he wants it too be a Family gym. Since Ross and Violet are married Kaede isn't they meet Melissa who is Missy at the gym she was a spy for her Father she wants Kaede he tells Mr Sanders that's hes already engaged its a lie and says the only name Courtney Ross's baby sister soon he tells this too Courtney to help him out she goes along with it.. Feelings are shown between them they liked each other for so long that when they first kiss they feel that connection at the gym Missy still tires to get Kaede but doesn't work. Courtney and Kaede goes to the first date he ask's her to Marry him of crouse she said yes they make love very steamy.. Ross and Violet are expecting there first baby everyone is thrilled Abi Courtney and Violet go shopping she tells them that shes starting to fall for Kaede for real even though the engagement is a fake. Alot does happen Kaede thinks hes not good enough for Courtney because she came from money and he was poor growing up but she tells him she wants him for who he is he starts to open up too her. The deal with One Life Gym with Mr Sanders doesn't go threw because his daughter Missy screwed it up she knew it was all fake she had a hissy fit didnt get what she wanted Kaede but they did get a new site for a new Gym in Charlotte NC...
