The Beatnuts come through with 1 of the best rap albums ever
If you do not already own Stone Crazy, your collection is most definitely lacking. This album is filled with tracks that you'll be bobbing your head to over and over again. This is one of the best rap albums ever made. I place it in the category with All Eyez on Me and Doggystyle. If you don't own this album you better go & get it. Liam Carey

1997
Was there any good hip-hop released in 1997? Well, it was the year of Company Flow's absolutely stellar underground masterpiece "Funcrusher Plus" but that moment of revolutionary brilliance, hip-hop was dominated by Puff Daddy, Master P, and the like. Okay, there was Wu-Tang with their excellent "Forever". I wouldn't say that the Beatnuts are on level with either aforementioned artist, but their sophomore album is okay, managing not to fall into the ultra-slick commercial traps which overwhelmed most hip-hop music of the year.

SO GOOD I WAS STONE CRAZY
The beatnuts come back with their third album but this time they return as a duo, Psycho les and Ju ju again keep their already established sound (classic new york beats) and this time they bring guests to add to the proceedings, first up on the now classic of the books track the beatnuts join forces with Big Pun and Cuban Link who both lay some serious quotable verses over a classic beat which seems to come from a childrens program which has then been cut up and looped to great effect, This is one of my favourate tracks of all time in hip hop if not my favourate overall, it just shows you how much I think of it.The rest of the album is pure magic also, Screwball also feature on a track bringing their queensbridge style which fits with the Corona duo. On the track Give me tha ass they take a well known song and put their own spin on it.The beatnuts are in my opinion one of the most underated groups in the game right now, These latinos have proven their worth time and time again, if you have never heard the beatnuts before you owe it to yourself to do so and this album is a good place to start (It was my first beatnuts album)buy it.
