Best paint ever purchased
This is going be a little bit of a long review so if you are looking for an honest review of this paint and products from this store. I’m going give it right here.I purchased this product for the first time this week. I have been doing paint by numbers about A year and a half. I am not an artist, nor do I know a whole lot about the creative aspect side of custom colors, or paint products as I am still learning.(However, I am 53, and a Hair Color Correction Specialist for 30 years)I was looking for reliable paint and products that actually work, as most of the time, the paint that is sent along with the kits are usually cheap and crummy, and I have wasted way too much money from various companies that continue to give empty promises. Even though I am still learning how to make my own custom colors. I have pretty good knowledge from my background that I am able to teach myself and have fun doing so. I came across this pallet after purchasing the iridescent and metallic bottles of their paint sets, in fact, I did not realize that this pallet was made from the same company as the metallic and iridescent paints that I had just purchased a week prior. (I always put a layer of clear gesso on My canvas before I begin to ensure color vibrancy and the longevity of the paint on the canvas) because the iridescent and metallic set was not only beautiful, but it was so easy to play around with, I decided to give this pallet a try..As I mentioned above, I’m not artist per se, but I have been so happy and excited because It has been so easy and so much fun Learning and mixing and playing with all of these colors, it’s now hard for me to stop. in fact, I purchased the other two pallets today. The pallet that includes the metallic colors and the other I think 56 color pallet. (should be coming in the next couple of days). If you are looking for Paint that actually works and that is not runny or see-through or having to do 10 coats before it covers, look no further, you will not be disappointed. Not only do you get your bank for your buck. You will be more than happy with your purchase. I found these amazing little hard, plastic paint pot and lids, I’m able to pull little bit of color from the jelly packs and squirting just a little bit of whatever I need From the metallic and iridescent colors and it stays nice and fresh.. I am really excited For the rest of my order to come in so I can continue to create. Thank you so much to this company for creating such amazing products. I look forward to being a happy longtime customer. (I’m just getting started, but I wanted to show how beautiful the colors look. I will upload the finished product when I am done.)

Once you figure out how to use it, gouache is amazing
One of the best purchases I've ever made, and one that continues bringing me joy in a considerably more eco-friendly way than my acrylics did.Gouache has quickly become my all-time favorite medium, and while I likely wouldn't buy this set again for practicality (tubes are more practical and less messy for painting on the go), I'll likely always hold on to the one I have. It's opaque, it's bright, it dries matte (most of the time) and it's just fun. It's great for beginners to get familiar with gouache and was super easy for me to learn and actually develop decent skill with. You can get very expressive or very realistic with it, and once you learn color theory, it's a breeze to get the color you want. I'd recommend painting in monochrome styles for a while to get used to handling it and mixing the paints, and I'd REALLY recommend you buy a tube of white gouche to go with this because I ran out SO MUCH while I was learning. However, that's a problem that goes away with time and experience as you learn not to lean on white and black to adjust your colors.HOWEVERThe brushes I got with the set didn't hold up very well, especially the pointed round, but I DID find a purpose for the... rounded... flat... thingy... one, which is almost unidentifiable after all the use. Once that brush in particular gets frayed, it's amazing for dry-brush-scrubbing in clouds!I'll also say that it's hard to keep this clean, especially if you're a messy painter like me, and that keeping it hydrated can be a chore. You'll occasionally have to spray them or drip a bit of water into each pan and give it a stir, wiping the tool you're using to stir with between pans. For more experienced painters, especially those with experience with watercolors or that like to travel, I'd really recommend getting tubes of gouache, a good mixing palette, and , or at least a smaller set, because this thing can be clunky to carry, the pans can leak if turned on their side or upside down, and it is kinda inconvenient to constantly have to rewet them to keep the paints from getting chunky. Also, and this is my biggest gripe, if the layer you're working on top of isn't perfectly dry, it will occasionally dry shiny or the bottom color will bleed through and refuse to be covered until it's fully dry. Thick over thin is key here, unless you're working on canvas panel, which I wouldn't recommend, or wood panel, which I would -- in that case, it's thick on thick to get it to stick! All that considered, though... I love this set. I love it dearly and it makes me so happy to pull it out of my little travel easel and set it on the table with its cute little clunk, and pop-pop it open and see all the love-worn colors glistening with color at me. I would recommend it heartily -- just not if you travel with your paints and value your sanity much. But then, what artist really does the latter?

First time using gouache - great product!
Got this set for my kids and decided to give it a try. I normally work in watercolor and this was my first time using gouache; I was very impressed at how easy these were to use! The 3 included brushes were nice; I used a smaller brush of mine in addition to these to create my painting on cold-pressed watercolor paper. The initial set up was a bit messy and time-consuming; took me about 30 minutes to get all these opened and stirred, but well worth the results. Once stirred, all the paints were juicy and vibrant. I loved being able to use these like watercolors when diluted with extra water. I work fast, so their quick-drying property was just right for me. I’ll certainly be getting a set for myself!

Good Quality Paint
This is the first gouache paint set I’ve ever bought for myself and used. I have only used it once before in college, so my experience with these paints is not on a professional level. However, my experience with watercolor paints is much more extensive. This Himi Gouache palette came in a large variety of color, and included was three different types of brushes that adequate, but do not hold water as well as some of my fancier brushes but I wasn’t fully expecting them to be top notch.I do advise to invest in a palette knife to use along with this kit, if you don't already have one.The paint itself dries quickly which is nice, but if you want to be able to build color you have to do so over a few different layers after they have completely dried. There is some technique in using these that I suggest researching a little just in case you’ve never used this brand before. This palette is also very saturated, so if you want more natural hues you’re going to be doing a lot of mixing.Overall, its definitely a good set for beginners and for the listed price.
