Poorly made cast metal blade snapped.
I used the hoe for two days and then the blade snapped. It appears the steel is cast, not forged as advertised. I enjoyed it for the short time I used it and am disappointed it is so poorly made. Forged iron tools would not snap in this manner.

Impressed with the strength of the blade
I used this hoe to did a trench full of rocks. I read the negative reviews of the blade breaking and soft. These are all older (2014 - 2015) reviews. The manufacturer must have taken notice and improved the blade since then. I was impressed with how well this blade held-up against the conditions. I live in a region where it is very rocky. I ran into large rocks (> 8" in diameter) often while digging a trench. I even used the hoe to pry the rocks from the ground. The blade is solid and did not bend, crack or break.

Great grub hoe, use it properly and you will love it.
If used properly this is a great tool. From other reviews, I got the impression that people thought is to be used like a mattock. It is not. It is more of a finesse tool for clearing weeds, sod, and making the occasional ditch in workable ground. I just used it to clear matted weeds from a neglected garden and it worked great. It is not a tool to force like a mattock, instead I use a light grip with a quick swing angled to get under the sod or weeds and peal it up. No need to sharpen as some have suggested. The quality off the blade and handle are as good as any in this price range.I have many niche tools and know how to use them. A grub hoe has a niche and works great for what it is made for. If you are breaking hard packed, rocky, or ground with a lot of roots use a mattock. If you need to clear last years matted weeds in a small to medium size garden, this is your best choice. I already have a gardener friend that will probably by one soon

Kelly it ain't. The metal is Rough and soft!
It will function, but it's not a step up standard tools. It's a poorly made eye hoe compared to "grandpas". The metal is a extremely rough and the blade does not thicken towards the eye like the older ones I own. However it will function with a little work to the edge. Spring for the 60 inch handle if your over 5ft 9

Hoe, hoe hoe!! 🌾
After removing about three yards of tape and bubble wrap, the tool was ready for use. I used it to chop down poke weed and other weeds in my yard. The thicker weeds (>~1/2 inch or with brown stems) were not cut. Perhaps, sharpening the blade more may help with that. I also want to use it to level off and fill in some ground hog holes but haven't gotten to that yet. Seems like it should work.

Ad states different measurments
The hoe total length is 64" (not 62")The head is 3/16" less then 10" widthThe head height is 6" (not 7" as stated in the ad)Came with a bent corner and side 1/4" and the top of the handle was all marked up (not covered well)Shipping was 2 days early and the steel has a nice ring to it, not the best steel but at least it's not tin....If i would have known it wasn't a 10" x 7" head i could have got this 6" at less than half the price. :(

Get this hoe, and never get another.
I've used this hoe for a few weeks now, and I've put it through the paces. This thing is hands down better than anything my local home depot carries. It's strong, long and awesome. I'm using it to build a trail up a mountain side so it's taking its fair share of a beating and still going strong. I have previously bought a wooden handle hoe and it broke the first day so the fact that this is going strong after weeks of use is an A+ in my book.

Decent
I paid $32 for the grub for at the time, 4 years ago. I liked it after and only after I cut off about 1/2” on each side of the blade. Awhile back the blade snapped in half, my fault... I used it to pry a root. Would buy again but not for the price of $50 today. Not worth it.Only issue I have with this is the head needs a hole for screwing a bolt on so the blade doesn’t slide down after awhile of tamping dirt a bit.

poor quality
its terrible cheap construction.it proudly boasts 'handle made in the USA' then in the small print it says the entire thing was assembled in mexico. and the cheap quality shows with a big blob of glue where the metal meets the handle.my bellotta hoe is a much better quality item.

Sturdy and effective tool
I don't normally leave review but this gem deserves one. I couldn't buy a traditional hoe anywhere in the UK, so I ordered this here and I'm well impressed. The metal part looks smaller than what I'm used to seeing in Europe, however its strong and sturdy, very effective. Dug up my whole garden with it and I think it will last me a lifetime.

break down at the first use
I'm currently building my house, I really like the brand truper.I bought many products from truper and I really enjoy them.the Truper 31614 TP 5 °F Schlegel 89,84 x 49,53 x 4.2 cm yellow/black saved me a lot of hard work. But today I tried for the first and last time the Hand Hoes , the part between handle and the head break down at the 5th hit I was removing bad grass.I hope someone at truper or amazon would help me, but for the moment this hand hoes is arround 3 €uros the hit on the ground and it will not evolve.good brand clearly, but not for this product.
