Interesting product, read review
Mesmerized after you snap the metal in the pouch to activate the heat. Gives off good heat, not burning hot but tolerable. Made well! Read instructions and boil for 10 mins. after use to get back to gel. Pain relief is an 8 out of 10, very easy to use, design is perfect for minimal notice and small areas, very effective and extremely flexible. Great product!!

Good product at a great price!
Very good hand warmers and great for the price. I really like these because they are very portable and you can take them anywhere. They have no smell and create a good amount of heat. One thing I wish it had was greater life span and had heat for longer. Another thing to note is that i think they can get a little bit less effective the more they are reused. It is also kind of a burden to have to boil them every time you want to reuse them. But overall i think this is a great product and diffidently one that you would want in the winter.

Very nice, but don't last as long as advertised
I bought these as stocking stuffers for my wife and kids and I'll say upfront that I'm pretty happy with them. Positives...All 4 packs seem to work as expected and none of them had already "activated" in shipping. They heat up quickly and at their hottest, feel warmer than those cheap throw away ones...I say feel because I haven't actually tested the temperature. Boiling to "recharge" them was no big deal and I like that they can be used repeatedly as I try to avoid creating needless garbage when I can and the throw away ones are needless garbage. They are made of a thick plastic/vinyl material and while I'm sure I could rip one open...they don't feel cheap. On the downside...Like some other reviews have mentioned, the initial activation took a few tries to get it going and I was worried that they were duds. But we just kept trying and they eventually started. On subsequent uses they seem to trigger right away. So I'm sure it just has something to do with breaking in the activator. If you have trouble getting them to start, just keep clicking the little metal disc and it'll eventually go (probably). Also, I wouldn't say they really last as long as advertised. 30 minutes on the larger size is about the max and probably 20 minutes on the smaller size. When started, they quickly hit their peak heat output and then slowly start to taper off. I'm wondering if they might last longer if they were wrapped in something? Not sure on that but I'll probably see if I can figure something out. But yeah, overall they are nice and I'm happy with the purchase.

Show you care!
These things are awesome! I bought them for my husband who is recovering from myriad serious illnesses. As a result of being so very sick, he lost 35 pounds (he was only 150 lbs to begin with) and has been struggling with a lack of warmth in his extremities. I placed a pair under his hands while he was shivering under a blanket - immediately he was his hands began to warm. He couldnโt stop commenting on how comforting they way - it almost brought tears to my eyes to see the volumes of relief he experienced. The heat packs stayed nice & toasty for about 30-40 minutes, which was just what he needed. Theyโre super easy to prepare for use again; 10 minutes of boiling, remove & let cool. My husband said itโs the best gift Iโve ever given him! And speaking of gifts, the way these are packaged is perfect for gift giving. Each set of two are packaged separately in their own sealed box. The boxes are very attractive and would be perfect to give one to 4 different people. If you have a friend that is recovering from any type of illness, surgery, etc., I honestly think a box would be a tremendous gift. I can also see that they would be great for anyone dealing with anxiety or upset because they are so soothing. I highly recommend these heat packs; there are so many different ones available on Amazon and I am very fortunate that I selected this brand. Lovely gift idea for someone you care aboutโฆ and treat yourself to a box as well! If I could give these 10 stars, I surely would.

Good idea, but heat doesn't last long
I have been on the lookout for the best type of hand warmers for three different situations: (1) for emergency preparedness, (2) for kids' hands while biking year-round on the cargo bike (they get quite cold because they're stationary behind me as we ride through the wind), and (3) for the school aged kids as they walk to school and at recess. I considered disposable hand warmers (but don't like the waste), electronic hand warmers (looked too expensive to start with), and these. I was especially drawn to the low price point + the fact that these are reusable. As we've used them the last six months, however, my biggest complaint is that their heat simply doesn't last long. They only have 10-15 minutes of good heat and then they become bulky rocks in the kids' pockets. This makes these nearly worthless for emergency situations. I started keeping them in my pannier for cold hands while biking, but I have now found 3 that got punctured and then crystalized all over the inside of my bag (ugh). I also keep finding them hard in the bottom of the bag, having gotten activated from the bumping while we were riding. Together, that makes them less than ideal for bicycling purposes. That leaves me sending these with the kids on their way to school. Because it is a short walk, this has been by far their best application. The kids take two apiece: one to enjoy on the way to school, and one to crack open at recess time. They're very pleased with this, and share with gloveless friends on cold days. Even the school application has its issues, however. The biggest problem is that these are fairly cumbersome to "recharge". It takes about 10 minutes of boiling to get them reset, which we do when the kids come home from school, but then I have a sopping wet rag every single day (because of the boiling instructions I found on YouTube) that needs to be dealt with. That means it's roughly the same amount of boiling time as actual use time, which feels slightly absurd. In order to not waste water, I let the water cool and then use it on my house plants-- but that's a lot of water when we're using them every day! In an emergency scenario, finding that much water to boil and having a fire to boil it sounds like a lot of requirements for a mere 10-15 minutes of hand heat. Would I give these another chance? I don't honestly know, but only for the school application if I did. I will next try buying an electronic hand warmer (and then eventually buy one per family member if the first one tests well). Even if the electronic ones work out, I may still continue using these reusable ones for school because they are so much less expensive-- and therefore I am much less worried about these getting lost, stolen, or broken in the school context. For emergency preparedness, I have thus far purchased a large stock of the disposable ones for our 72-hour kits and our car emergency kits because at least I know those work very reliably, even if they unfortunately get trashed afterwards. The electronic ones may replace those, so long as I keep them well charged during normal times, and perhaps I would keep a couple of the electronic ones on my bike. In all, the search continues. These are inexpensive and definitely work in limited scenarios, but they're also short-lived heat and a lot of work to maintain.

Snappy Heat vs. Hot To Go
I am going to post this same review to both products as I have used both for quite a while now and thought it time to share. First of all, both products are great and very similar. Push the metal "button" and it quickly heats up. If you leave it in the cold, open air, it will lose heat and get rock hard within 10 minutes. If you keep massaging it or keep it somewhere insulated (ie. glove, pocket), then these things will last 20-30 minutes. No, they don't last as long as the single use ones, however, they CAN get just as hot or even hotter if you keep massaging the pack constantly. I often use these to keep kids' hands warm at school if they forget gloves. I don't worry about bursting as they are food grade safe. The best part is they are re-usable and a simple 15 minute boil brings them back to the way you found them. Hot to Go or Snappy Heat? - Honestly, they aren't very different. The Hot To Go ones SEEM slightly more full and in the year+ that I have had them, I have only had two break (both Snappy Heat - however one was due to me letting it sit on the bottom of the pan during boiling the whole time - don't do that!). Either product is great and does exactly as it describes, however, if I had to pick one (and they were the same price) I would say Hot To Go.

Still awesome... 2 years later
Hey amazon so I just had to write a review for these stupid little things! Let's start with I didn't expect them to last or be good at all because of all the negative reviews. So I dropped $20 and gave it a shot. Well here I am on amazon again writing a review for these heat packs 2 years later. They all still work perfectly, I have the full set still and none of busted or broke or stopped working like everyone says they do. I absolutely love them. I think the only issue I have is that the heat doesn't last long, it never did. It lasts maybe half an hour at the most before they're back to room temperature, and need to be boiled again to reset. But otherwise they are an amazing product and they do seriously last a long a** time if you take care of them. They're the perfect sustainable replacement to disposable hot hands, and they really do save money after using them a few times. Definitely not going back after these finally give out lol
