The sticker covers a full octave. The notes on the large end of the sticker (G D A E) are an octave above what your open strings are tuned to (as noted in white letters at the small end). To Install: 1. Loosen the strings enough to push them aside . Be careful not to move your bridge in the process. Be sure to check bridge placement when you are finished. 2. Carefully peel the backing off the label. 3. Apply the label by carefully making sure it is in position before sticking it down. Slide the small end snug against the nut. If it sticks on you before you get the proper placement just peel up carefully and start again. 4. Re-tune your strings and you are ready to go. 5. To remove labels just peel off slowly and carefully. If any residue remains on your fingerboard you can easily remove it with a little rubbing alcohol or soapy water dabbed on a piece of tissue paper. These are temporary aids only. Most students only need to use them for a few weeks until they get used to the fingering positions.

You Get What You Pay For
It'll work for a while, but I want to learn now as soon as possible to avoid getting adhesive all over the strings. It's very cheaply made and the adhesive is unforgiving - heaven forbid you place it poorly the first time and need to move it. I am glad for the basic guide, but I don't recommend this one.

Good idea, please improve
You can make this yourself. Buy sticker paper and print it out and cut to size. Cutting out the shopping time for the paper it would take 20 minutes tops to do youself. So if you don't have the time it is worth $1 to have someone do it for you. Also violins are expensive and need constant maintenance, I do not want sticker residue on my instrument.Kudos to the seller for the idea, but maybe improve the product.

looks and works fine. It would be a little better if it had a stick-on peel off back. I had to provide my own glue which is a little messier than a stick on.

Please do not buy this thing, it wasn't worth $4bucks!
It was a photocopied sticker! Was not at all what I expected. It almost got thrown away as garbage. Never again.

It was a bit hard to put in I cut it into pieces and connnected them but above all it looks very pleasing especially since my violin is black it looks so beautiful I love it
