My 10 year old son is really into astrology and zodiac signs, as well as mythology now. I specifically looked for fiction books from ages 8-12. This one was listed for ages 8-12 in the search, but i now see it's listed for ages 12-17 . I find this is a very intimidating read for ages 12 and under and based on focus level. He read the back and was interested but just can't get over how long it'll take him. Because he didnt actually read it, I cannot speak to the story line. The 3 stars is just for the misleading age range and size for young readers.

I am so enthralled by the world that Romina Russell has created in Zodiac. She has beautifully combined science fiction and astrology to craft a setting that is every bit as breathtaking as this gorgeous book cover.The characters are divided into separate houses based on the zodiac signs, and the common attributes of those signs manifest themselves in the characters' traits and strengths, which is such a fun and original approach to character development.The plot is incredibly fast paced and high-stakes right from the very beginning. When tragedy forces Rhoma into an unpredicted position of power, readers get to see behind the scenes of the political machinations taking place in this world, which is very intriguing and helps balance out some of the intense action scenes that occur throughout the story.Yes. There is a love triangle in this story. I personally am not a hater of love triangles in novels as long as they make sense and work well within the story, and I do feel that that was the case in Zodiac. There is some sizzling romantic tension between Rhoma and both Hysan and Mathias. I found the dynamic between the three of them scintillating and so much fun to read.I also love me a good villain, and Zodiac has an excellent villain. Russel does a good job of showing his treachery while hinting at the motivations behind his actions.Overall, I really enjoyed this story. I found it entertaining and imaginative and really enjoyed the dazzling setting it took place in. I'm so looking forward to the next book in our readathon, Wandering Star, and hope you'll join us!

This book gets 3.5 stars from me. I love the world and the 12 Zodiac houses. Their cultures and values and just everything about the planets and the constellations are fascinating. There, at least, this book excelled. But as for the rest of it, it was really frustrating and annoying at best. Rho, our protagonist, is a real special cookie. Every guy she meets instantly falls in love. She's the most loyal Cancrian and she's the only one that can save the universe. Ugh, please. It's so cliche to make your protagonist the most specialist person ever and then have her stuck in a love triangle too. Which brings me to my next point. I hate love triangles with a passion. I can't understand how anyone can think it's okay to string two guys along and still justify your actions after jumping from one to the other. If Mathias wasn't in this book I would have been happy. He is the worst kind of guy and Rho being okay with him not trusting her when she cannot tell a lie, is beyond me. Hysan is obviously my favorite. But that insta-love also put me off quite a bit. He's an intriguing character all on his own and I want him to be our hero! Rho, go take a back seat. If you can stomach a really annoying protagonist and a bad, bad love triangle, go on, give this book a read. The world is truly fascinating and makes up a bit for the terrible romance and special-cookieness of our heroine.

This is a fun, adventurous read. I loved the mix of astronomy, astrology, and girl - centered galactic adventures that touch on many themes...loss of family, friends, and innocence...responsibilities to home and fellow citizens...first loves and losses. Strong characters and thought provoking themes for readers of all ages. I also like how it is written in the first person, from a girl's POV. Romina has quite the imagination :)

I gave it to my grandson for his golden birthday with a gold dog tag necklace purchase from Amazon also. He love both of them very much. His necklace had his zodiac sign on it.

Being able to curl up with a good book and become fully invested in each character is a cherished pass time and this book makes it all the easier to enjoy

Have not finished reading this book yet, but from what I did read it’s interesting. It is paperback and comes in great condition.

Arrived in condition that didn't match the description. Spine was cracked and removing the stickers left a mark.

I liked the subject, but I didn’t like the way it was written. I felt like the writer hadn’t put enough emotion in it.

As edicoes coverback em ingles costumam n terem muita qualidade por serem consideradas descartáveis. O texto tem um bom espaçamento, ficando no centro da página, dando para ler de boa no meio do livro sem ficar rasgando o livro de tanto abrir. As letras possuem tamanho médio, não sendo nem muito boa, nem muito ruim para ler, tipo nos livros da editora Record. O papel é o de sempre das edições paperback, fino. Não possui orelhas.No final, uma compra muito boa por 13 reais.

Dear readers,I have been in a horrible reading slump and this gem brought me back! It is easy to follow with good plot twists and round characters. If you have even the slightest interest in those kind of space fatasy ya novels, you should give it a try! The mc, Rho, is trying to find herself and I love how she isn't just one day a normal person and the next she is superwoman. She gradually evolves and stays true to herself, keeping up her integrity even if noone believes in her, even her closest advisor. Give it a try!
