Well translated; a useful companion to Bunuel's classic film.

A leisurely and quiet long short story about the life of a young woman and her relationships with an elderly rake, a young artist and eventually a religious life as she looks to make her own way in the world.For my taste this turned out to be rather too leisurely to hold the attention.I was disappointed. I had for many years looked to try something by this author. Seeing this short novel, and one that's recently been translated, I took the plunge. Maybe it wasn't the best choice...
