Norden Herring - Cream Sauce (14.1 ounce)

Having this type of herring was a traditional New Years thing in out family during our New Years celebration.These are just like I remember from many years back. I will be buying again.

I haven't seen marinated herring in the store for awhile, so I was excited to see I could purchase it on line. It took 11 days from placing the order, but I supposed the shipping would be within 1-2 days with cold packs, since it must be kept refrigerated. It did arrive in styrofoam but was hot. No idea how long it was underway (or how long it was hot), but it wasn't safe to eat it, so I wasted my money. However, since it is a brand I didn't have before, I opened it to see what it was like. It was about ⅔ onions and ⅓ herring pieces, so that would also have been a disappointment.

The pickled herring flavor was outstanding!

Nothing like the other brand Ive eaten for many years. Had them re-send after 1st jar tasted funny, but 2nd was the same. Maybe just a different style.

Fast and exactly as expected.

My shipment arrived several days late. The cooling packs had melted and the entire container was room temperature. The contents of the (single) jar were a sort of dirty brown.Not knowing how long it had been that way, I threw the entire thing out untasted.Very disappointing. At nearly $25 for a single jar (not two, as pictured) I expected better.
