This product is great for training pitchers
This product is great for training pitchers. I am currently working with 9 year old first time pitchers. It is hard to coach mechanics in a one on one setting when you have to be the catcher. This product allows them to have a great target to throw to while I closely monitor their mechanics and give guidance. It is also great for practicing your swing mechanics in a small space and reducing time chasing balls. The small size makes it lighter and more portablle than the larger systems, but makes me nervous about using it for hitting normal balls with younger players, That is where the weighted training balls come in. Even a the stray mishit won't go far enough to cause damage in your back yard or risk injury to another player at practice. I would also recommend picking up some whiffle balls for this application as you don't want to hit the weighted balls too many times.Set up of the frame is extremely straight forward. It is so easy that anybody should be able to figure it out even without instructions. Getting the net on the frame takes some strength as the poles do have a good amount of tension. It takes more strength than my 9 year old has, so he can't set it up by himself. I would say this is the only negative of the product. That being said, this is a result of how the net is secured to the frame. The net is secured to the frame through very well stitched, highly reinforced sleeves. The tension for the net is applied by the left and right support posts pushing outword on those sleeves as opposed to hooks and elastic cords that are easier to use, but inevitable stretch and fail. It is a tradeoff that I think is well worth it. This feature will likely ensure that the product will still be functional for many years with minimal to no maintenance.I initiall bought the product for personal use, but feel is is well built enough to withstand using at at practices as well.

Amazing net! Just what I was looking for!
This review is for the 5x5 net:UPDATE: 2 seasons passed, and this net is still holding up strong. Have had other coaches parents come up and ask about it seeing how portable it is, and how quick and easy it is to setup/breakdown. Looking at buying the 7x7 now.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Awesome net so far! I've only used it in one practice so far, but the net is awesome! It's lightweight, sets up/breaks down in less than 2 minutes, comes with a removable strike zone, and lost in importance is a LARGE bag to put everything in after breakdown. A lot of bags "just fit" the equipment, causing you time and grief to fold it the right way to get it back in the bag. Not this one. I honestly think I could fit 2 of these nets and their poles in one bag if I tried.I thought the net might need weights on the legs to hold it down, but it withstood my pitchers pitching 40-50mph fastballs at it with no problem whatsoever. One thing to note, the detachable strikezone comes off if hit squarely. I have it properly mounted at the top and the bottom, but when my pitchers hit it instead of going through one of the 9 holes, it would pop off. To remedy this, I removed the loops at the bottom, wrapped the bottom cords around the side poles once, and then reattached on the bottom hook. I could have easily tightened the top fasteners more, but this resulted in raising the height of the strike zone to an unrealistic level. Wrapping the bottom allowed the strike zone to stay in a more realistic strike zone area. My only recommendation would be that the bottom cords also be adjustable as well to allow for maximum customization to suite ones needs.Overall though, awesome net, awesome price, and an amazing company. Better than playing Catcher
My 13-yr old pitches ~60 mph and, since my husband doesn't have a full set of catcher's gear, this is exactly what we needed. I saw other nets for about $200-250 that looked great, but I didn't want to spend that much money. I also wanted the 7x7 from Rukket - but didn't want to wait for the 2-month backorder. This 5x5 was easy to set up (took about 10 min) and is easy enough to move around in the yard - which we had to do. The 1st day we had it up, my son threw a wild pitch, missed the net entirely, and hit the neighbors a/c unit. We've since repositioned the net and put it under a tent with additional netting. (more $ but I think we would have had the same problem with those more expensive nets which are about the same size.) I also don't think a 7x7 would be able to keep all the balls in our yard.I'm not sure what a 'fold-up design' is; nothing folds. To bring this unit anywhere, the net has to come off and the bars need to be detached from each other (pop/push buttons). It's not something I want to setup/breakdown on a regular basis - I want my son to be able to practice in our yard. The constructions is sturdy enough and the netting serves it's purpose and catches the balls, I am able to see where the ball hits in the strike zone (most times), and I happy that my husband doesn't have to catch and my son can practice. Overall, I'm quite happy.

Very handy product
We've used this 3 times so far for pitching and catching batting practice. I have a 12 & 18 year old that are using it. Easy to setup. It is holding up pretty well so far. One of the bungee's that connects the net to the frame at the bottom broke loose and I had re-crimp the ring holding it on. I'm hoping it isn't going to be an ongoing issue.I do wish the anchors were a little better. If you have a kid throwing 70+mph, any low or errant pitch that hits the frame or bottom of the net will knock it loose. The anchors don't hold it in place very well after a few hits nor do the anchors hold up well in a dense clay based soil. Two of them are already bent from pushing them into the ground.Overall, this saves a lot of time since it catches the balls for us. The kids get to practice throwing when I'm not able to catch for them. Also, saves me some bumps and bruises by taking me out of the firing line. The adjustable strike zone is pretty cool. You can turn pitching practice into a game by seeing how many times you can hit the various target squares. Definitely helps them focus on throwing strikes. They also tend to practice more. I wish I had bought this thing years ago. The kids really like using it.

This is expensive and not worth the money. The manufacturing finish is appalling and cheap
On unpacking this product we found a large hole in the netting which makes it virtually useless for baseball practice
