This is a must have item if you have a 2 1/2 inch hitch. Recently I purchased a 2017 Ram 2500. This was my first HD truck with all my previous experience being the lighter 1500 series trucks of Ram, Chevy/GMC, and Ford. I should have figured that since this new truck was a HD that it would have class V hitch instead of a IV. My bad. I purchased a Bully hitch step and when I tried to install the 2 inch hitch insert...it no worky! Duh! After a search I located this must-have adapter to allow my class V 2 1/2 inch hitch to now work with the class IV 2 inch standard.Pros:- Solid construction (I have no reservation about using it with 2 inch hitch items)- An acceptable price for an item that I will have inserted in my hitch likely 99% of the time I will be driving the truck- Fits the 2 inch hitch step I installed without issue (I use a locking hitch pin which I highly recommend for all hitch use)Cons- There is a little wobble with the insert and my class V hitch itself BUT it is not soooo great that I can hear any rattling at all so I'd only list this as a small con- Nothing else so far

All I can say is it works. I wish I would have noticed it didn't have "dimples" that keep it from sliding into the receiver. Tends to be a pain because of this issue. Otherwise a good product for the cost. There's nothing for the install, slide it on & try to keep the holes lined up while sliding into your receiver.

The adapter fit perfectly without any problems. It’s also good and sturdy.

I bought a Ford F350 which has a 2 1/2" hitch. I had a 2" receiver from my previous truck, and I bought this adapter. While it fits OK, it is not snug. With the receiver and adapter in place, there is still some looseness. I'm not sure where to go. When I read reviews of similar products, even this one, I read how well they fit, but not in mine.I had already bought the Ford adapter, which fits even worse.

Both my old half ton trucks had class 3 hitches. bought a new 2500 ram and realized it had a class 5, and none of my 2" receivers fit the new hitch now! Bought my first one locally because I was hauling my boat the day I discovered this. 2 days later my dad called and he bought a new f250, so I asked him if he wanted a new gift for it? He said sure. Had this shipped to him and he called me IMMEDIATLEY to thank me because he hadnt considered it either and was in the same situation as me without knowing.We both keep this in our truck hitch full time and it works perfectly.
