Gamma seal lidsโฆexcellent
I love these lids to use on 5 to 7 gallon buckets. They seal with an O-ring to keep pests out. These are very well-made and I highly recommend them if youโre looking for this type of screw lid for your 5 to 7 gallon buckets.

Gamma lids
Love these lids. Makes getting into a 5 gallon bucket so much easier. Especially if you are stockpiling food goods to use like flour, sugar, rice etcโฆ throw in an oxygen absorber and it will last a long time.

Love The Lids - Just a Small "Issue"
I purchased for food storage containers. I would've given it a 4.5 stars if that had been available. The product arrived quickly and in great shape, but I do want to mention a couple of things that I believe were complaints on here. One of the strangest things was the existence of plastic hairs. When I say this, I mean it looks like where the lids were shaved down, there were pieces of plastic hairs lying where the seal is for the part that gets hammered onto the bucket. Just be aware that these exist. There were also random ones in the box they arrived in. I used the end of scissors to run it over the hairs (again, it is plastic shavings) that were sticking out and were still attached to the lid (avoiding hitting the seal itself) and cleaned it all off. No one wants plastic in their food, and it will take extra time on your part to remove these. With that, I love these lids, but I am using them for food buckets and the process I had to go through to get rid of plastic hairs was a little annoying. At the same time, it was maybe 5 to 15 minutes extra work per lid, so it isn't the end of the world. All in all, considering the price point and getting rid of old lids that practically needed a crowbar to remove, I'd say I was really happy to receive these. In fact, I waited for the UPS truck because these lids made my life a heck of a lot easier. So, if you can take some time to remove plastic hairs and don't mind, I personally would recommend these lids. The other issue was the plastic smell did hit me in the face which doesn't really annoy me because it is, in fact, plastic, but I know there are people that might bother. It did disperse after I washed them. This may seem critical for a 5 star review, but I wanted anyone who was purchasing to know it might take a little effort on your part to suite your needs. Other than that, there were no issues with the lid snapping down with a rubber mallet (I covered the edge with a towel while using the mallet to avoid marking). I saved my fingernails with these new lids. They definitely seem extremely secure. I used these on 5 gallon food storage buckets and will gladly recycle the previous snap on lids without feeling one ounce of regret that they're out of my life.

Great for feeders and waterers on homestead
I use 5 gallon buckets for DIY feeders and waterers on my homestead. They don't break, even if frozen, when you open. I can drill a hole in a section to put cord through for water heaters. They do not keep rain out feed, so I keep in dry area or put a tarp over the feeder. At this time, this seller has lower price than anyone else or what I can get at local store. Ordered 2 boxes so I will have enough into spring. Definitely recommend.

Great for dry goods storage
Purchased these for long term packaged food stuffs storage, allowed easy opening of container for access to goods. Was having a hard time with normal lids getting them open, this make it a breeze. Will do some testing on my own to see if it will work for a long term storage of say dried beans, or rice. My fingers are happy.

Hard to pound
These are so hard to pound onto 5 gallon buckets, but I still have them a 5 star because I love the wide opening and the screw ability. Makes accessing my chicken feed and supplies so much easier!

Good Lids - But Qualilty Control Issue
These Gamma Seal Lids get the job done. It is also less expensive to get your own buckets, and then just add lids like these to create air tight, easily accessible buckets. The manufacturer recommends that you use a rubber mallet to get the outer ring securely onto the bucket. However, if you donโt weigh too much, then you can simply stand/walk on the outer edges of the bucket lid, and shift your weight around until the outer ring seats on the bucket. You will hear it click into place as you move around the edges. The reason that I gave my review only 2 stars is because my lids arrived dirty, with a fine dust, a few hairs, and debris all over them, which came off on my hands. In addition, they did not arrive in the storage box seen in the picture, but only stacked in a brown cardboard box. This is clearly a quality control issue. Although I was going to wash the lids before using them, I did not appreciate them arriving soiled. :-( I hope that you found this review helpful?
