If Martha Stewart, Oprah and Trump were combined, lost everything, got it back and found out what a family means...
I enjoyed this movie, however, I'm a big fan of the sharp raw movies by Melissa McCarthy. This is not Gilmore Girls nor Mike and Molly.I feel the unrated version is way better than the theatrical version. Lots of cussing and insulting sharp take-no-prisoner humor. If it bothers you hearing women and kids cuss this may not be for you.The character, Michelle Darnell, was created about 15 years ago at the Groundlings Improv Theater---which is hilarious. Do a google search...very funny. I found the background they gave her as child having a hard time finding a family to adopt and "keep" her to the redemption of creating, destroying and then saving a brownie "girl scout-ish" business for an single mom ex-assistant and her daisy-girl daughter to be hilarious and touching.Other Actors:I LOVE LOVE LOVED the cameo of her mentor and "to have a family or no-family" adviser---Kathy Bates is strangely tender in a money greedy dysfunctional way. (I wanted to see more of this character and their relationship)Peter Dinkelage as her ex love interest is superb and the dynamic of him and his assistant finding ways of undercutting Michelle is too funny. The riffing between the two is funny and comfortable. The 80's greed history and competitive relationship between the two of them is well developed and too funny.Kristen Bell and her daughter bring the sweetest and softness to his sharp humored movie.MOVIE EXTRAS: Fun to watch and wish there were more. The alternate scenes and deleted scenes were the most entertaining.Attached photo: Screen shot of Kathy Bates' money mogul character having a nice Sunday dinner with her large hired "actors" family.

Just ... so funny!
Melissa McCarthy is so talented. She can do anything. I have been under pressure lately and I needed to laugh. For $2.99, I laughed a lot! It served its purpose, and as silly as it was - it was FUNNY and just what the doctor ordered. It also has a pretty cool message, as well.

The Boss DVD
A very funny movie about a troubled kid that keeps getting returned to orphanage that grows up to a huge money making lady. She then goes to jail for insider trading and comes out flat broke with no friends. She goes to ex employee for help and gets involved in a girl scout cookie deal and decides to start own brownie business. Her girl scouts are tough killer kids. Her ex employee and her daughter really get close with her and that freaks her out. She tries to go good. She has an ex midget boyfriend who is also out to get her and a bit crazy. Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Bell and Peter Dinkledge are INCREDIBLY FUNNY in this with the girl scouts.

It is what it is
Is it a blockbuster? Nah. But Melissa McCarthy is always hilarious. Don’t know why but I bust a gut whenever I see her in something. Never even heard of this movie but found it recently and had to watch. Pretty sure I fell asleep at some point but i rewatched it. Don’t really remember what happened. But overall I do remember laugh crying 5 minutes into the movie bc Melissa does what she does. Worth a watch if you have nothing better to do.

Melissa McCarthy is amazing in this movie!
The Boss is, to me, an extremely funny movie and I loved it especially Melissa McCarthy's character who is raunchy, rude, mean, and in a lot of ways despicable, yet Melissa somehow makes her hilariously funny and likeable despite those characteristics. The best scene is the girl on girl brawl for cookie/brownie selling territory and the sofa bed! It's so worth watching for laugh out loud comedy!

Give it a try it is good lighthearted humor
I love Melissa McCarthy, people said it was a lame movie but I'm sorry I laughed my head off , which I don't do a Zombie movies or war movies , we all need humor in our life , everyone has a different choice BUT it is a choice humor over terror
