Ian Norbury is recognised as one of the worlds leading wood sculptors, with works in Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London. Here this living master provides one-to-one virtual training for aspiring woodcarvers, as he carves and explains his techniques for producing a finished piece. The disk includes plan drawings, still photographs and 45 minutes of step-by-step video instruction. Highly recommended as a first step to figure carving, this DVD guides the viewer through the process of carving the female torso, a beautiful but simple shape that can be executed at any size. This is an ideal introduction to the full female figures of Carving the Female Figure and Carving the Female Figure 2.

There is a lot in this, so do not expect your piece to look as good, it will take a few rounds
There is a lot to this. This is a good addition to my ever expanding collection of carving / sculpting / artistic anatomy books and videos. It is very in lightening to watch how the artist uses his tools.

"Carving a Female Torso" is not worth the money...
This video shows nothing of the tools being used (not even the band-saw). Non of the wood or the technique in removing the wood was shown. YouTube has more information for free! I will assume the rest of Ian Norbury DVDs and books have the same type of content.
