Roadmap for socialism
This is the Socialists Mein Kampf. Their strategic document to destroy western civilisation and the family. To become beasts ruled by animal lusts. Socialism started with sexual revolution in 1917 which almost brought down the soviet experiment. Wilhelm is obviously mad and sought to destroy the world in his madness, scientifically of course.

This is what objective science should look like
Interesting. It basically states that sexual repression is the corner stone of authoritarian, patriarchal society. The family is the mini prison cell everybody is born into, and since nobody else is available the child is guaranteed to build some Oedipus complex toward her parents, as even suppressed sexuality must flow in some direction. The family itself is the "root cause" of Oedipus complex, as the child must bind to someone in a generally sex negating culture, as his/her sexuality slowly develops (yes, Reich thinks even small child has some sexual drives, depending the age/maturity of the child). Reich is a big supporter of adolescent sexuality (but not any form of pedophilia), as youngsters suffer enormously until they are "allowed" to sex under the marriage contract (thankfully our age, at least in the so-called western world is more supportive and sex no longer requires a marriage license). In Reich's opinion, the suppressed sex drives manifest in every possible form of perversion and mental sickness. On the other hand, when somebody's sex drives allowed to develop naturally, the resulting person is much more balanced (and much harder to control...). Far from becoming a mindless animal, a gentle, trusting person develops, not necessarily capable of life-long monogamy, but very picky in sexual relationships, as quality matters and not quantity. The problem is, that every child arrives into an already sick world, so there is little opportunity for the poor child to develop "naturally", unhindered by the already sick masses of people. That is why Reich supported the radical ideas of communism, and the dissolution of family. In his opinion the children must live with their age group under the guidance of specially trained people who let them develop in a natural way and not passing their existing sexual inhibitions to them. The parents can of course visit the child but too strong, unnatural bonds must not be developed. In a few generations the sexually sick people simply die out and the rest can live happily ever after.Interesting - there is little chance it can be arranged as Reich envisioned. But there is certainly a lot of truth and good quality science in his works. Some of his ideas, like public support for adolescent sexuality can actually work and make our world a better place.

I wish I read before having children.
It is a thought-provoking book and even though some ideas seem way different from what is "acceptable" somehow they feel intuitive. Definitely worth reading by all who have children, grandchildren or deal with children.

a must read!
WR is the forgotten, reviled thinker of the 20th century. He takes Sigmund Freud's insights to another level. We can't afford to let his work languish in obscurity.
