She did it again!
The drakoni are my favorite alien species by Ruby, and Jurik is (so far) the most adorable. With Jurick and Rachel, there is no instant connection. Rachel struggles with her insecurities and Jurik struggles to understand what she needs. I enjoyed watching them try to figure it all out and the creative ways they do so.You did it again, Ruby. I just love you, girl.I have read everyone of her books and am always biting at the bit for the next one. The way she constructs her worlds and her characters leaves no room for confusion for me. I'm never lost because I can see it all as I move through the book. What I absolutely love about Ruby is that her female characters are average girls. Not all of the are buxom beauties with long hair. They're real woman with insecurities, different skin colors, different body shapes, and scars/deformities! She doesn't discriminate with her girls! Being a thicc black woman, I love when I read her books because some of these girls look like me! It's very rare for me to find a book with a woman that looks like me, and it can be discouraging. Not with Ruby though!Thank you Ruby for all these things and more. You are by far my favorite author. Keep it up!

Love it
I like the different view of the situation in fort Dallas and of a heroine that is not, as society puts it, typically pretty. I love the progression as a whole of the big overall story.

Wonderful!
Omg I just love this series (as well as the blue aliens, but that's another series!! 😍) and this is yet another great book. We get a new girl and more insight into the half-drakoni babies and how important they are to the drakoni and this new world. I also really like how scrappy and practical Rachel is. Her relationship with Jurik develops nicely. All in all a great read and another winner!

WORRIED FOR NOTHING!
I was a little worried about slipping into this world again, as a planetwide pandemic sometimes puts my headspace in a spot where a dystopian postapocolyptic world feels...not as safely purely fictional as it did just a year ago. I needn't have worried though, Ruby's dragons anchor her Earth firmly in fantasy. Because of that, "Fire In His Chaos" is an excellent diversion from today's reality. Jurik is truly charming, and Rachel's strength through adversity and full on warrior spirit will win your heart. Several important plot developments in the series storyline as a whole make this book pivotal. Fans of this series won't want to miss this one! Once you start it, you won't put it down!

Best one yet
Ruby's books are always so excellently written, and this one is no different. The plot has me hooked enough to hit the pre order button no questions asked. Can't recommend ger books enough!

Still going strong
This series is a fave of mine and every book has good stuff on offer. I don’t think I’ve ever not read all the way through in one sitting.

Brilliant
Rachel was horribly attacked by a dragon when the rift first opened leaving her scarred and without part of her arm. Jurik is a big sweetie. Of course, they have misunderstandings just like any real couple. There's more Fort Dallas and Azar (the bad alien). You won't be disappointed. I can't wait for the next book.

Favorite of the series to date! Scrappy heroine and get set up for the future
Written for mature readers only (18+ years old) due to subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, steamy intimate scenes and violence such as attempted rape, fighting with some to the death, etc. This is the 8th story of the series and I highly recommend these be read in series order for maximum reader satisfaction and to prevent spoilers as there are reoccurring characters and an overall storyline arc. Plus they start one after another and each one builds more of the story universe.I also appreciate that there are minimal grammatical issues. Nothing more aggravating than picturing scenes in your mind as you read and then having it interrupted due to an error ...This has been my favorite of the series so far. I think it is because of the heroine, Rachel, and the scars / disfigurement she carries from when the dragons first came through the Rift. She is spunky, not looking for favors due to her injuries, and has a courageous spirit. Jurik was semi introduced in a previous story, so it is good to see him overcome the madness and find a mate.

A series worth reading
I like a book that balances heartache with what is almost comedy. It is amusing watching a strong female character try and converse with an alien (Dragon) who does not understand her language. Her voice reminding him of a creature from his home world. It is nice to see an author who is not afraid to feature a character with missing parts without making you feel sorry for them. There is no pity here, just true grit. Now waiting impatiently for the next character.

Loved it
Another of my favourite series and I'm loving the direction it's going. Also i loved that this heroine wasn't perfect physically. I know it's not the same thing but i have psoriasis which disfigured my face in my younger years, so it's great to have a heroine who is not a model looking beauty.

Great book
This book was a terrific addition to Ruby’s dragon series. Each book contains a continuation of the main storyline but also has its own happy ever after which could be read as a stand-alone but would be much more enjoyable and make more sense if read in order. Her characters are always so realistic and believable and the romance super hot. Loved it and can’t wait for the next one.
