The sweater slides down their body. Didn't appear to be too comfortable for the cat. I placed it on him before bedtime and in the morning the neck part of sweater was below his front legs. I suppose it's the lay of their coat. Just didn't work.

Our little guy is a big boy, at 13 lbs and 11.5 inches tall (at his shoulders). We had to get him an off season lion cut due to bad mats. We're in the midst of a really bad cold snap in So. California. When he started doing things he'd never done before, like sitting in front on my desk space heater, and making a nest out my robe, we figured maybe he's cold.Honestly, I was a little apprehensive about this pet sweater, based on the mixed reviews about sizing and fit. And, not a lot for large cats either. I got the largest size, and it fits him PERFECTLY. The neck really is about 10 inches, and it's not constricting. The single large opening for his legs makes it easy to put on and very comfortable. He's a solely indoor cat and has never worn anything, not even a collar. So, we were pleasantly surprised at how easily he accepted this sweater. He almost instantly relaxed; stretching out when he laid down instead of curling into a tight little shivering ball or hiding in my robes all day. He stopped hiding and started running around and playing again! Bonus: He looks adorable in his little sweater!The fabric is a thin but warm and stretchy flannel. It did stretch out permanently a little, conforming better to his shape.We take it off of him for an hour or so when he starts to try and groom himself. We've had it for one week, so far and he seems to love it!

I was so anxious for this to arrive as it was hopefully going to be an alternative to my cat's cone of shame. He has sensitive skin and allergies and I thought this would help prevent his overgrooming which was causing bald spots and scabs. I opened the package and BOOM! I was met with the most overpowering perfume / air freshener smell ever. I tried airing it out and it is still so strong. I washed my hands and the smell won't leave my hands! It seriously smells like it was sprayed with an entire can of Glade. I cannot use this. I would imagine even if I purchased it as just a "cute outfit" for a pet without allergies, the smell would still cause an issue as most pets can be very sensitive to smell. Not sure why any company would add such a strong smell or what is being covered up by it. So disappointed that I'm out the money and still don't have a solution for my cat.EDIT/UPDATE: After letting this air out for a few days the air freshener smell is still very present but a little less potent. I decided to see how it may or may not affect my cat. He seems to be okay now that the smell faded a little, and it fits him perfectly. (I ordered a large and his weight fluctuates between 12-12.5 pounds.) It is a very thin material so appropriate for the summer and it prevents him from over grooming as I hoped that it would. I updated to 4 stars, had it not been for this weird smell I would give it 5.

The media could not be loaded.  TLDR: Large neck actually measures 15 inches, not 10. The medium gets 5 stars, the large gets 1 star.I purchased a medium a year ago and it was the favorite me and for my kitten due to the softness, stretch, and single large arm hole. All pictures and the video are of her wearing the medium over the past year.The weather has gotten cold again, but my cat is now an adult and the medium is a bit too tight around her chest.I ordered 2 larges, one in each color. I was worried about the neck being an inch bigger, as the neck on the medium still fit perfectly (even loose after being stretched). To my horror, the neck on the large are almost as wide as the large chest!The stretched out medium neck is now 5 inches across (so 10 inches around), while the large is 7.5 inches across (15 inches around)!!! If you are good at sewing, then it should be an easy enough to take in the neck but you shouldn't have to. I'm going to return both of the larges.

I really really liked the design, if only it fit him properly. He's a 12lb cat and it was to tight around mid section - it wouldn't stretch and it wasn't long enough. I did take measurements and thought buying the largest size would do it. I tried stretching it out after I took from the washing machine, but it wouldn't stretch out enough to fit. If possible, maybe make another size larger and I will buy again. Good quality - gave to my neighbor for her tiny dog - fit him well with room to spare and very cute!

My 11 pound cat has had a hot spot problem on the back of his neck for a few years. He scratches till his neck gets raw. Never knew how to deal with it until I used Expawlorer. The medium sweater fits high enough on his neck so that when he scratches, he scratches the sweater, allowing his neck to heal. It fits snuggly but isn't too tight, so he has free movement. It's easy to put on and remove, so if I take it off and he starts scratching again, it's sweater time! Best solution I could have found. I've used this product for 4 years now, and it's been the perfect remedy. He's gray and white, so the gray and white plaid shirt almost looks like his fur coat. My brother-in-law actually thought I had a plaid cat the first time he saw him. Great item. I've ordered 2 or three now, and always keep an extra on hand. Saved me a few trips to the vet for sure.
