Great Purchase
This was a gift to my honey on Valentines. He has played guitar his entire life but stopped for a while and this book gives him the sections that he is looking to play. The selection of artists and songs is fabulous!

a little disappointed
Lots of great solos in here, but there's one major oversight: they aren't ranked! The songs are only listed in alphabetical order.I imagine that's because it's not the exact list Guitar World published, which is likely do to some rights issues. The two Smashing Pumpkins, Neil Young, and Rage Against the Machine songs that were on the list are not here, along with a few others. They've been replaced with other solos. Also, while the book claims to feature solos from "founding fathers" most of the songs are from '68 or later (with one song from '66 and another from '64) Johnny B. Goode was on the original list, but is not present. The original list had more variety, and I think this book would have benefited from that. They could have used whatever solos they left out to inject some more variety in there, but didn't.The transcriptions are okay, but are often overcomplicated (as is often the case with published guitar music)It's still a cool book though. A good addition to my library.

This book has all of the best guitar solos you can imagine. Now to get to work and learn them.

Meh.
Not super impressed. It is only the solos with no context and some of the parts presented are only a single page where there's obviously a lot more music from the song that could have been shown. Range of styles is really wide, everyone is going to have a couple of songs they love, a couple they hate and a lot they just don't care about. Figure out what songs you like and get the entire song's music is probably a better idea.

100 Greatest solos that they had the right to publish
Certainly not the 100 greatest solos of all time; several obscure ones included, but I am guessing that this is probably the 100 best that they could get publication rights too. Of course, take any 100 people and you'll get 100 different lists, but there were several really great, popular solos that were not here.I also missed the book providing tips (as is done in Guitar World magazine)concerning style of play; guitar, pedal, and amp settings, etc. I've worked on a few of these, starting slow and increasing speed as I learned the music, and I still don't hear the song that I'm trying to replicate. I'm not a guitar hero, just a journeyman, so maybe it's me.

Major disappointment
I’m not going to say anything about the song list, it is what it is, and you can look it up, if that of concern to you.I really liked the idea of the “Best” solos, I figured I would learn a handful, or so, of them, so I always had something awesome I could throw out. Whole songs are great for playing with a band, but make lame solo jam time.My problem is the quality of the material. Best example of all: the publishers should REALLY know the difference between Sweet Child of Mine and November Rain. Same band, but different albums and very different songs; however, the song listed under “November Rain” is a short stupid little riff, from what I can’t tell, but the content under “Sweet Child of Mine” is actually the solo for November Rain!!! Talk about a major unforgivable error! If they can’t even match the right songs to the right music there’s no point. But wait, there’s more problems... These aren’t even the actual solos! The few I tried were modified easy arrangements that kinda sounded like the real this, but not quite. Therefore, you are left with melodies of solos to random songs, which may or may not match their titles.

Quality issues for kindle version!
The book is great, but don't buy the kindle version for digital viewing! It contains images of poor quality and appears blurry!

Possono i lettori aver richiesto quello?

Amazing help.
Great book with solos on an electric guitar with distortion pedal, it doesn't cover all guitar solos. It starts with Hendrix and Santana what is exactly on the back cover. I will never be able to play even one of the solos, I will use it for my own ,one person, living room improvisations.Amazing help, how could you figure out all those sounds by yourself. Thanks.
