The Art and Spirit of Paris

One of the greatest art books of all time
Nothing to dislike or to complain about. One of the most beautiful art books ever published. The copy I got had a few slight cosmetic issues that I very easily rectified (I am a self taught bookbinder). And at a fair price. Lovely! If you love Paris (how could you not!) and the magnificent art and culture of an era that is unfortunately vanished forever you owe this wonderful set to yourself or to anyone you truly love. Two other volumes of this caliber that I would absolutely recommend are: "The Art of Florence" (Abbeville/Artabras) and "Venice Art and Architecture" (Konemann) Both of those are equally huge in size, weight and content. True heirloom pieces and a source of endless delight. Amazingly you can still find very reasonably priced copies at Amazon. Sometimes the gods are kind. Cheers.

Wonderful Overview
The book is organized into sections based on time period. There are many historical pictures that are black and white and also many color pictures. I'd want hundreds of pictures of each building, which isn't possible, but I'm very pleased with the content of this title. Remember that it's very heavy, so be careful lifting it.

Outstanding book
Amazon has wrong photo of the cover of the book. The book is stunning. The quality of text, illustrations and paper are world class.
