HENG'S INDUSTRIES 90114-C1 Universal Roof Vent Lid - Metal

I have an enclosed trailer that stays outside all year long and I’ve had to replace the cheap plastic vent 2 other times. Hail took it out one time and a branch took it out the second and this time the wind cot it somehow and broke the hinge off.Well I was looking for a better cover and the metal came up and I was excited. I do t need it for light just ventilation. This would be perfect. Ready the reviews and gave it a try.The edges are a bit sharp so I did wear gloves but it wasn’t an issue really for me. The fit was perfect and everything went together nicely. It has already withstand winds of 80-100mph winds from a tornado that hit last week and my metal vent is still going strong.If your looking to upgrade your ski light vent look no further. This is a great upgrade and way more practical vent. I’m so glad I gave it a try.

The installation had multiple steps but was pretty simple (watched some videos). I did not replace the rubber seal, and it lined up pretty good (bit of a space in one corner). I painted it with spray paint primer that was made for galvanized metal, then two top coats of semi-gloss. Paint applied well and looks good so far, but we'll see if it holds up. I added some silicone lube to the slider and crank parts which improved the operation of opening/closing the vent. Like others have said, watch the edges, they are sharp! It does cut out some light, but not enough to worry about in our little fiberglass Escape TT.

RV dealer installed a new roof vent in my VW Eurovan Camper and it was great EXCEPT it no longer fit in our garage because the dome lid was too high. I was so pleased when I found this replacement flat lid since we don't have a fan and so don't need the dome design anyway. Plus, the aluminum seems more sturdy than the plastic dome...

After replacing the plastic vent covers twice on my 5th wheel trailer, I was ready to try more durable metal covers. I was able to install these over two of my vents that had been destroyed by a hail storm. These covers appear to be made of quality material and fit to the guide and crank on my old vents so I only had to replace the vent caps. I don't expect to need to replace them again in my life time. So why only 4 stars? The edges of the covers are VERY sharp. I seriously cut my thumb while installing the first of two covers I purchased. After the cut, I put on thick rubber gloves to finish the installation. It has been a week and my thumb is still sore. The company should either grind down the edge or roll the edge to prevent this kind of injury.

My plastic vent cover deteriorated quickly in the sun. This was a quick and easy replacement that should last the life of the trailer. I could not be happier with this purchase. It is exactly what I needed.

I had to take the inside apart to release the crank mechanism. This is a great upgrade.

old plastic vent covers rarely survived the winter for me, no worries with this one! I also love that it blocks out the light in my bedroom instead of waking with the sun with plastic covers

Easy to install

Used for RV vent over bed so no light shines in. Also the acrylic ones seem to last less and less. The wrong item was shipped the first time but did receive the correct one about 10 days later
