Creative Sound Blaster World of Warcraft Wireless Headset

Hi everyoneWhen i first saw this at the blizzard store i wanted to buy it immediately, but they don't sell it anymore, then i got here and start searching, like with all my other electronic devices i like to read the comments and reviews to see if there is any problems with the product, or any usage problems that can occur, this item have quite some bad reviews, and when i start to see what people was saying about it, and what the good reviews said, about those other reviews i was kind of confuse on what to think about the headset, i almost give up on getting one and start looking for another.Well the thing is that knowing how careful people can be with their stuff, and how well people use them, i though well this people are just been too harsh on the product, and the stuff they complain can easily be fix or overcome, guess what, i was right, people who complain about the mic don't know how to configure it right, or have some other problems somewhere, i guess i got the lucky one from the lot cause mine work perfect since i got it out of the box, i just have to adjust the volume level cause yes, the micro is sensitive, but if you put it about 18% like it said on the creative page, guess what it work just fine, and micro sound quality is very good, no complains from any friends or guild mates, used ventrilo, and didn't have to change any settings, the sound of the headset is really good, i mean, is a headset, not a 5.1 surround hd system, and with the settings of the software that comes with it, the sound improve even more, love the glowing lights and how you can customize them, although i have them mostly off to save some batteries, ohh the batteries, they are great, i charge them and forget i was wearing the headset, i start to use it at 7am, and at 7pm they discharge,so that's like 10 hours, they say it last 9 so..., well guess it kinds of goes that long without the lights, they are comfortable, but whatever you were in your head for more than 2-3 hours is going to start to bother you at some degree, so i just take them off for a couple of minutes and that does the trick.About the material and how breakable it is, well i was well aware of this before i bought it, so i was prepare for it to break if i look at it from the reviews here, well i don't have a big head like most of the persons that broke it, so i don't have to be adjusting the headset, the material that show when you pull it to make it longer it does seem delicate, but nothing that been careful don't resolved, it is plastic after all, and is not a toy, so the careful part should go without saying, guess some people complains about this because of the price they were expecting something else or something like that, cant really tell, but for me its just fine, works like a charm, i play wow so for me it looks great, although you do look like you are either flying a yet plain, or doing the traffic at the control tower, but hey it is not a fashion accessories, and it does it works great.about the wireless, well it works really good, my house is made on concrete so it doesn't go that far, but i get to go to the bathroom and still hear it, if you are near you pc and by near i mean on the same room, you shouldn't have any problems with it, i also have a wire less keyboard, and a wireless mouse, and a wireless router in my room all very close to each other,like within 2-3 feet range or so, so with the headset it would be 4 devices that work with different transmitters/receivers cause is not a mouse/keyboard combo, they are separate, the headset works just fine, i did notice my mouse was not responding right, it was acting like it had low batteries, change them did solved the problem so i check the wireless receiver, since i had the headset receiver and the mouse receiver one next to the other i guess that was the problem cause i moved the mouse receiver to the ports in front of my pc the problem went away, and everything works just fine now, also there is a thing call wireless channel if you have problems after doing something like i did you can try change it on the other devices, don't know if you can do it in the headset.The buttons are OK, but i hope they would be on the side instate of the bottom part.I'm quite happy with mine, for me it worth its price, and i'm also glad i didn't pay attention to the bad reviews, i give it a shot to judge for myself and the results were great, hope this help you decide when your shopping for this headsets

I have long been a Creative customer due to thier history of high quality products. They were the first and remain the best in audio technology. From my first Sound Blaster card to my current Zen X-Fi 2, they have never failed to provide the very best products. I am an avid World Of Warcraft player and when I first heard about this set, I was thrilled. For Creative to team up with Blizzard and provide a specialised set for the game was like a shiny new bicycle for Christmas. I decided not to pre-order but knew i would get one shortly after release, I have great faith in Creative. I ordered my set just yesterday (3/18/10) around 2pm CST and recieved it today (3/19/10) after choosing 1 day shipping, so a big plus to Amazon for the extremely prompt shipping. [Side note, if you have any reservations about Amazon Prime, I can honestly say it is well worth it]. I got the box in and unpacked it with the utmost glee. To be honest, I didn't read the instructions and just plugged it in right away. It worked flwalessly, wonderful sound and managed to muffle external sounds without the aide of an electronic unit. I was impressed already. I read through the instruction manual and learned that you have to go to the website and download the software for use with it.(Nope, no cd in the box). Downloaded the software suite and set it up the way I wanted and signed into WoW to test it out. The quality is out of this world, you actually feel like you're there, fighting the Scourge or upholding the fantacism of the Scarlet Crusade. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. I tested it out with a few Mp3s on my system and was simply amazed at the level of detail. It's almost like having your own personal band there, playing just for you. The software suite allows you to customize the sound level to a T and it comes with many presets. You can also use the VoiceFX software to morph your voice to a character type within the game. It's not entirely accurate, but it is really cool. As for the package contents, I was very well pleased with it. You get a special leather pouch with the WoW logo and Sound Blaster Logo imprinted on either side. There are 2 small velcro pouches inside the leather one to store your mic boom and USB dongle which come in very handy. The plates on the side are very easy to change and they even give you a tool to take them off, how cool is that? And now to get to the real meat...On the whole, it's a fantastic product, which is not only good for WoW players, but for anyone looking for a lot of bang for thier buck in a set of wireless headphones for thier PC. They muffle sound exceptionally well even without being powered on. The level of customization to each persons listening style is without measure. No matter what your level of expertise in audio, you can very easily customise it to your preferences.Now for the complaits. I can only really say 2 bad things, and one of them may very well be my fault. 1. The description is slightly misleading, I assumed the unit would recharge through the USB dongle as you were using it, as per the afforementioned description. This is not the case. True, you can use it and charge it at the same time, but only through the use of a USB cable (which conveniently comes in the box). So it is essentially a wired unit while you're charging it. How long the charge lasts, I don't know but I will psot an update to be more precise. 2. The software to fully utilise it MUST be downloaded, there are NO discs included with the package. I would have thought maybe they could have crammed it onto the dongle as most manufacturers do these days, but no. You have to go onto the website to get the software. That being said, you DO NOT need it for it to function, that is only for the higher level functions such as EQ control and VoiceFx.So in closing, it's a fantastic product that lives up to 99% of expectations ( the USB charging thing). I would reccommend it not just for WoW players, but for anyone looking for a product they can depend on to deliver the very best in performance. 5 stars most definitely. Yet another Creative victory in the ever going war over audio superiority. Yes it is a bit pricey, but if you want THE best, you've got to pay for it and this folks, is THE best. And about the rest of the people providing negative and marginal reviews, take it with a grain of salt. It's way easier to be negative than to be positive and there's no such thing as the perfect product in everyone's eyes.
