Extremely small
I ordered this tripod to replace an old Nikon tripod I purchased to match a Nikon Field Scope I had purchased years ago for wildlife viewing in Yellowstone. The leg extension mechanism on one of the three legs of my tripod broke and was not repairable. This new tripod may work well for light-weight cameras owned by persons who are under 5' tall, but not for a spotting scope (even a light-weight scope) or an average-sized person. Even with the neck extender, the tripod's maximum height is about 50".Also, the tripod head mechanism (ball mechanism) and release platform are pretty flimsy compared to my old Nikon tripod.I returned this item because it just did not measure up to my expectation and needs. I'm purchasing a larger, more sturdy, but more expensive, Monfrotto tripod from an East Coast retailer...

versatile and stable
It takes a little time to learn how to use the various knobs to adjust but once this is mastered the stand and my binoculars works well and serves my purposes.

Perfect
This tripod is exactly what I was looking for, small, compact, and light weight yet sturdy. Can’t wait to use it with my spotting scope out west this year

Nikon Compact Tripod
About the last thing you want on a travel piece of photographic equipment is a fancy brand name such as NIKON, which this has plastered all over it. It simply invites THEFT ! Its well made, very functional but the deal breaker is that it weighs a ton for its size. I guess I am use to carbon fiber at this point and this tripod is made from IRON. It weighs a TON . NOT a good travel tripod, but good for home use or around locally. maybe.
