Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised In Brief, 3rd edition

I am chair of my city's planning board. We are supposed to operate by Roberts Rules of Order. The in brief version is such a great tool to folks trying to chair a meeting. Our meetings have been better, more orderly, and with less angst now that we adhere to a process rather than ad-hoc procedures.

Great book!

I have continually used previous editions of "in Brief" in various meetings. This one is the most up-to-date edition that condenses and simplifies "Robert's Rules" from the complete volume. I have found in not-for-profit organizations and committee meetings the "In Brief" works well. I have both newest editions and work with them both. However, in my "In Brief" copy I have tabbed and labeled each key place that I know are sticking point for my organizational situations. I often need to read out loud to our group exactly what "In Brief" contains concerning one situation of another. It helps to clarify how to behave in any given parliamentary situation. "In Brief" is written in clear and concise terms. It is a must-have for Parliamentarians as well as all officers of an organization. It should never be relegated to a shelve. It is for action, deliberation, and above all guidance in conduct of meetings small and large.

This book is PERFECT! It quickly, but thoroughly provides you with the basic rules to running, attending and being an active and inactive member of a board/society meeting structure. You can quickly explained so if you only have 5-7 minutes before your meeting you are fully prepared, and thorough enough to where it gives you all of the details so you do not look a fool, because this book lacks nothing other than it is not the "actual" RONR. This handy book lets you know where to find the information down to the page in the RONR, and explains details page by page.If you like reading FACTS and are intrigued by processes and structure of meetings (or anything for that matter), this book is the book for you!
