Bug infested batch
We have been using Purina One Smartblend for over 7 years without issue. Our dog loves the food. Only recently did we begin using the Amazon subscription service. There were no issues with the first couple deliveries, but this last one was different. The dog food has little white specs in it. Initially, we thought it was an additive not completely mixed in or something new to the formula, but a month into using it and half way through the bag, we have found bugs and insect larvae crawling around inside the food bin. We do not have the original packaging to provide a lot number. I don't know if this is something that happened because of an Amazon storage issue or a production problem with Purina. My faith in the product is strong. I immediately purchased another bag of Purina One to replace this one, but it was from Walmart, not Amazon. I have cancelled my subscription because of this. The couple dollars I saved using Amazon will be more than offset my veterinarian bills.

Meat based first ingredient for a readonable price
I'm very picky about what I give my dogs, but since I have six I cannot afford a non commercial dog food. This is a great commercial dog food for a reasonable price.... the first ingredient being chicken meal or lamb meal- no it's not pure meat, but it's a whole lot better than ground up corn or any other grain. My older dogs having gone in for full blood panels and having eaten this food their entire lives always came out super super healthy for liver function, kidney function, all that kind of thing, so I can only assume that this is a good product.

Purina One dog food
I've been feeding this to my lab mix, for a very long time. I think there was something wrong with this last bag, every time she eats it, she throws it up before it's even digested. I started feeding her a different brand & the vomiting has stopped. Just thought you should know.

INFESTED WITH PANTRY MOTHS AND LARVAE
The media could not be loaded. I have been buy this for my dog for almost a year now. Something seems off with my dog a week or two after I opened my last bag. I keep her food in a sealed container in a pantry and don't really look when I fill her bowl as it is generally dark and at night. So, when I started seeing little white worms on the wall near her food dish and she was vomiting I investigated further to see what they were. They are the larvae of the Indianmeal moth or pantry moth. As soon as I discovered this I immediately checked her food in the container and the bag and discovered a disgusting amount of various stages of this moth/worm. Immediately, I took the container and bag of food outside and threw it away.I contact Purina on Facebook and sent the pictures I had taken along with the video from inside the bag showing all the worms and moths (with some close up). They did respond quickly, stating how everything is clean and checked and they take the utmost precautions to avoid these issues but would send me coupons to replace what was lost. That's all good, except they don't cover the entire cost of a 31 lb bag at a grocer and Amazon doesn't take coupons. Also, there is the fact that my house was infested. I had to throw away countless boxes of cereal and found numerous larvae once I googled the lifespan and realized how bad it truly is and that just discarding the dog food wasn't enough. Not sure if this is a Purina issue or where Amazon is storing the food. Just heads up...

Duct Taped and Original Seal Completely Missing....
This product came via AmazonPrime and appeared to be shipped in appropriate packaging and within the estimated shipping time promised. HOWEVER, upon further inspection, the Purina bag had been sealed with packaging tape (noticeable perforations and strip in the photo included), and the entire original seal on the dog food bag was no longer present (i.e. no glue, no string, etc... No remnants of the original packaging seal.). Also, there is an obvious small hole/ break in the bag (also pictured in the image). Throwing this out. Completely unacceptable and very bad quality control here.

Even Picky eaters love this.
We have 3 dogs. A Chihuahua ,a Morkie and a Cocker Spaniel. We have cooked for them instead of buying dog food for years. One was highly recommended by a lady we met.Wow even our little picky Morkie cleaned her bowl.I am buying it again and will continue to do so.Our two little dogs will pick out the freeze dried chicken first then they gobble up the rest.I am so pleased because this has relieved us from all the cooking and still gives them what they need.We started cooking chicken quarters because I was afraid of packaged dog foods. But I learned that our dogs might not be getting nutrients they needed. Our dogs were healthy but being in our 70’s switching over made it easier on us especially when we travel.I am sure you will be pleased with this choice.

My two Am Staffs love it
I thought it was funny the review asked me to rate Flavor. "Why yes, I tasted it myself. Flavor is good!" Nah, all seriousness, I have this item in Chicken and Rice flavor on subscription as my two Am Staffs love it. I've tried numerous grain-free, high-dollar products including Taste of the Wild, Blue Buffalo, and other Purinas. But so far I find this to be the best for the money, and apparently so do my pups. 5/5.

Very good cheaper option for dog food!
My dog LOVES this dog food! I tried this food out in the hopes of finding a cheaper solution for my dog's diet. This was the first dog food that my dog happily ate without wet food added. Believe me I have tried high value dog food that promise great benefits to unhealthy snack like dog food like kibbles 'n bits, but this is the only dog food that he eats without hesitation. He is also the healthiest I have ever seen him. Full of energy and very attentive.
