This is Not A Running Book
Good writing but a travel narrative written around running events. I enjoyed the book to a point I just didn't want to read a travel and history guide. The description was misleading.

Inspirational running and travel guide
This book is a must read for anyone interested in traveling the world, running long distances, or (better yet) doing both at the same time. Mr. Morrison has accomplished a lot in his life, and this book offers generous and inspiring access to his philosophical thoughts, historical research, geographic knowledge, and running experiences. His writing style is refreshing and varied, and I kept being pleasantly surprised by the new turns the book took. It is a book I read cover to cover the first time and now I pick it up and read parts for information and inspiration. Buy it for yourself and for any runner with a spirit for travel and philosophy!

Great Inspiration
This book has seven inspirational stories that mix travel, history, and running. A must read for the traveling runner or any one who loves adventure. Morrison brings a keen eye and philosophical writing style to the growing pile of running literature. I loved each page of it.

A journey of life
This is not actually a book of philosophy, but more of an observation of life, and how decisions affect one's life.Well written and articulate, and despite some interesting ties to major Philosophers, the language is simple, effective, and not afraid to comment in the modern American English vernacular. This seems, to me, to allow the author to obtain a more complete friendship with the reader.Perseverance may be part of the guiding thoughts, but moreso the essays are an exhortation to act, rather than merely to be.Perhaps a bit of Thoreau, Aeschylus ... or even Orwell ... might have influenced some of these writings, but the thoughts expressed will, quite confidently, stand on their own merits.I have other reasons to appreciate this text that do not necessarily apply to this review, but I would suggest that anyone seeking some direction, or even inspiration, in life might obtain valuable insights by experiencing the stories.
