Love/Hate Relationship with the Proviz Reflect360
Recently bought the Proviz Reflect360 jacket so that I could be more visible in the dark while riding my bike to and from work during the winter months. I will start of by saying that I have a “love/hate” relationship with the Proviz Reflect360 and that all the other reviews you’ve read about it are true, both the Good and the Bad. I would just like to emphasize a few areas of those reviews. The GoodI would probably say “The Great”. This jacket is extremely reflective. My first day wearing the jacket while riding in the dark, a guy that had driven passed me pulled over and wanted to speak with me. He asked about my “crazy jacket”. I told him about the jacket, then asked him how bright it was. He answered that he could “See me more than a ¼ mile away”, and that I was “ALL LIT UP!!!”. He was very interested in the jacket and wanted to know where I bought it, how much it cost and how it fit. This was exactly why I had bought the jacket. After having too many close calls while riding in the dark, this man’s comments were exactly what I wanted to hear. The BadI had read reviews that said the breathability of this jacket is poor. That is an understatement. This jacket is a sauna. It does not breath at all. Yes, it has vents across the back below the shoulder, armpit vents and then as a last resort, you can unzip the front to allow more air in. It doesn’t do enough. At the end of every one of my rides, I have to turn the jacket inside out to allow it to dry out. It is dripping wet. My morning rides are cool with the temperatures in the hi 40’s/mid 50’s F and my evening rides are in the hi 50’s F. I understand that everyone has different levels of how much they sweat, but his jacket is a sauna. I would say that the comfort level for wearing this jacket for a ride would be the low 50’sF or less. Anything above and you start noticing that your arms and body are sweating and you need to cool off. Unzipping the front and the armpits does very little if anything to help. In fact, on a recent ride, I unzipped the front and my glasses fogged up. Yes, it’s that bad. Some other minor items I noticed is that the jacket is somewhat heavy and stiff for cycling. That’s as a result of all the tiny glass beads that are attached to the material giving you that fantastic reflectivity. What this means is that you’re not going to be able to take it off and store it rolled up in the back pocket of your jersey. Maybe in a backpack, but not a jersey.ConclusionAs I mentioned earlier, I have a “love/hate” relationship with this jacket. I really love how safe it makes me feel knowing that motorists can see me. This is comforting not only to me but also to my wife and family. What I’m struggling with is how hot this jacket is. It is a mobile sauna. If you’re a wrestler wanting to cut weight, then the Proviz Reflect360 is for you. If you’re riding in temp’s in the low 50’s or colder, then you should be fine. I know that this jacket is offered in a more breathable version, the Reflect360+, but the cost is over 2X. It’s also offered in a vest, but I like having the added reflectivity in my arms. I want as much of me to be seen by motorists as possible. Am I glad I bought it? That’s a great question. How do you answer a love/hate situation. What would be great is a version of the Reflect360 that had removable arms by zipping them off.

Looks Good. Feels Right For The I'm-a Biker-From-Space Vibe That I'm Going For
This jacket worked great in the rain today. While I agree with other reviewers it is not super breathable, I am excited to use it in the NYC winter when that will be a feature and not a bug. The jacket is as advertised very reflective and hopefully cars will at least hit me with a little more guilt, like," hey, there's a person, oh, no, that's too bad" instead of just the "crunch ... ?????" . It is a bit baggy which is good because I wear a lot of sweaters. I am confident every sweater will fit under the jacket. The pocket on the butt is choice - my bike game is up 30%, please refer to pic for excitement level.

The good: The amount of reflected light is amazing
The good: The amount of reflected light is amazing. In the month or so I've had it, I've had 5 people roll down their windows while driving by to ask who makes it and to compliment how visible it is. So, do I feel safer wearing it? Yes, absolutely, I think it increases my visibility on the bike. The downside: The jacket is one of the worst I've worn in terms of breath-ability. It has vents on it, but if it is more than 40 degrees F outside, I can't wear it, it is too hot. I commute very early in the morning, so it is often cold, especially in the winter. I often ride in when it is 30-35 degrees without issue. But as soon as the temp rises a little, the jacket becomes unbearably warm. The sizing is weird. I wasn't sure if I should have ordered a L or an XL, and I got the XL. Some of the previous reviews were conflicting. I'm a big guy, 6-3 and 225. I should have ordered the L, even though I measured out as an XL based on their sizing chart.

Good for commuting in cold dark weather
I bought this for cold weather commuting. I normally where a medium, but bought a large based on the reviews. it is a little big. I do not know if a medium would have fit me. I kept it, since it will allow for additional layers underneath. The jacket is heavy in weight and it also is very warm. I only use it when it is very cold outside. It has to be below 40. I keep the arm pits unzipped, and I still work up a sweat. I do not think any waterproof/breathable material can keep up with venting moisture during hard exercise. Reflectivity seems to be very good. One reviewer commented on not liking the loose mesh lining, and I agree with them. Overall, I am glad I bought the jacket. I give it four stars with this specific use in mind.

The reflective qualities are excellent!. In fact Amazing
Bought this for early morning dog walks and potentially road biking. The reflective qualities are excellent!. In fact Amazing! When light hits the jacket it goes 3D and reflection literally pops off the jacket. The material is thicker and the jacket weight is heavier than expected.I bought extra large b/c others said is was smalled size. I'm female 5"3 -175 lbs and wear large most times (hard to admit), So, a meatball I am. In any event, it's very roomy in the body and I can wear a hoodie under the jacket. Arms are about 4 inches too long, which also allows me to tuck my hands on cold mornings, perhaps that's a plus. The length is good to cover my rump.I probably won't wear it biking, for I will become a parachute. I certainly use discretion when I wear this, it is not fitted enough for the New York runway, but is perfect for safety and roomy enough for adding some under-layers.I haven't had a need to open unarm zippers to release heat , not able to comment on that yet.A few design flaws: No hip pockets , the wrist bands don't tighten small enough. A second cinch cord the waste would have been an perfect added feature to adjust for a less baggy fit. There is a cinch cord at the bottom, which ends up below my rump b/c I'm short. If you are tall, you may be happy with it.Hope that helps.

Fine at first, but fabric and zip quickly failed
Bought the jacket nearly 2 years ago and it's coming to the end of its use so I will share what I foundIllumination - didn't work for the first 3 months as really need light to strike directly at it.However after a few months as jacket got creased and scrunched up it seems to get brighter with age and now even in the day time it's quite shiny. Day wear is not v useful for commute in the grey mornings as you blend into the road so I wear fluorescent gloves and helmetRipped fabric - main reason for giving 2 stars is that wear the zips are sewed into the reflective body, over past year, these have been weak points where large rips have appearedZip - main zip also failed in last 6 months, my belly keeps falling outSo, good at start but failed after 1 year

Amazing visibility but lack of breathability is an issue in spring temperatures
I've been riding with this jacket for about a month now and am experiencing it as the weather is changing from cold to spring like. Starting with features and fit, it's hard to fault. The reflectivity is extraordinary, cars definitely give me a wide birth and there's no fear of being missed at night. In the day time it's a different story, you become the colour of london sky and personally I wear a brutally ugly green high visibility helmet for that reason. Fit is good, I am 6'2" with long arms and there are no issues. If I were to be picky I would say that the raised curve at the bottom of the front of the jacket is too accentuated to the point where you wouldn't want to wear this jacket once you climbed off the bike as it looks like you shrunk your coat in the wash. Also being picky again, the armpit ventilation zips need to be easier to grab a hold of, it's difficult without gloves and impossible with.Coming back to the change of seasons, I put the jacket on this morning over a work shirt and a thin hoody. The temperature was 11 C with some cloud cover. What this showed me was that the jacket is NOT breathable in the slightest - to be fair it doesn't claim to be - but be aware, you get very wet very quickly even with the vents wide open. That is why it's 60 quid and not 260. So Proviz, please think about releasing an Event or Gortex version - I would probably pay the difference

is a bit tight around the waste but at the arms and shoulders it is perfect
This jacket definitely turns heads, in the right way. The (medium size) fit was as expected, I am slightly above a medium (6¨1 and 176lbs) and it fits me well, is a bit tight around the waste but at the arms and shoulders it is perfect. I found that the ventilation zips really help when riding my bike, and the rear part slots over my saddle to stop mud hitting me. In terms of build quality, there's a slight rip on the front bottom that is barely noticable but hopefully will not get any worse (that's why I gave it 4*). Safety wise it is extremely reflective, and waterproof (although when it is raining the raindrops look like UV paint on the jacket). Would recommend for style and functional purposes. If you are between a size, go for a size up to ensure ease of movement.

The nearly perfect cycling jacket
Fantastic product, couldn't have asked for a better jacket when commuting on my bike to work. It been my companion for over a year now and I'm sure it has saved me both bike and limb. There are a few things to be aware of...1) The breathability of the jacket is not the greatest. The jacket does have ventilation on the back and under the arm pit which work well. I wear a backpack and with that find that it doesn't wick away sweat very well. Having said that, it is warm on the coldest of days and waterproof so I don't mind.2) I have found that the coating started to peel on places where it was folded or scrunchted up. This is disappointing and started within a few months (of heavy use). This doesn't effect the reflectivity as much as it waterproofing. Now when it's raining hard the jacket will start to leak where it has pealed. I haven't had a crash or trauma to the jacket. In summary, this is the perfect cycling jacket and I would/will buy another one in a heart beat. After a few weeks the reflective coating can peal causing rain to get in. I know that Proviz website has a 1 year warranty, but I don't know if this applies on amazon.

Great for night time visibility
This product appears to work great. It's hard to see the actual glow unless you are looking at it from the source of the lights so you don't appreciate it when you're wearing it. I was told by a motorist at the lights that it was a very bright reflection so I'm confident it's doing the right job.The only issue is that you need direct lights on you so if a car is pulling out of a side street it won't see you until you're right in front of it so don't expect it to know you're coming. Lights will help with this.I use an electric bike so take it from that perspective. I don't get hot and sweaty when I ride. The jacket is not that warm and I'm happy I went a size up so I can wear another jacket underneath. Even now as autumn rolls in(September london) I need to wear a jersey underneath it as it's too cold to just wear my work shirt.I have noticed some threads around the sleeve coming a bit lose so not too confident in a long durable life out of it but time will tell.
