This drum is a real drum, but made for a kid. I didn't want another electronic toy. This is a simple drum with good sound and some soft sticks (mallots). I have a 10 month old who has used this since 6 months. She loves it, and I'm pretty sure it will last a few years more. She doesn't really use the mallets right, yet it still gives a great boom sound just with her hands. If she does manage to rip it someday, I'll buy another one just like it. It is a great value. Very impressed, honesty.

This drum worked really well for my sons music class when classes were being offered on zoom. We needed something so he felt like he was in the real class. It’s sturdy and gender neutral. We love it!

Awesome drum. It sounds like a drum, works like a drum, looks like a drum...what more can you ask for?No bells and whistles, flashing lights, batteries, etc. Introduced this to baby at around 7-8 months old and it's still one of her favorite toys to this day. Kid absolutely loves banging around on it and going nuts, especially when you join or root her on.The rubber stand that encases the bottom is nice for height and protection. It has nice volume and produces a proper beat unlike some other baby instruments. The only thing of note to be concerned about are the mallets/sticks which come with the toy. The balls at the base are pretty large and shouldn't be capable of being choked on, but if I recall correctly the red plastic on the ends can slip off. With or without them, a great toy so long as proper child supervision is observed.

My grandson loves his drum! He’s only a year old. Loves to bang on the drum with the sticks included and his hand. The drum is pretty sturdy. My grandson sat on it picked it up and dropped it to the floor. The drum is still intact. Worth the price. Great value!

I thought a small drum would help my granddaughter tap to the beat. She is only three and doesn't have rhythm, but she she is having fun with the drum. It is an excellent drum. If I were still teaching I would buy 10 of them.

This drum produces a rich boom even with our granddaughter just using her hand to strike it. The drumsticks have balls on the end--so watch that your little one doesn't try to teeth on them. We are very satisfied with this item.

My 1 year old loves this. He doesn't use the drumsticks because he is still putting everything in his mouth and the balls on the ends looked to me like they may come off. However, he bangs and beats with his hands and laughs so loud. The rum has held up well.
