Just Little Doilies: 27 Crochet Patterns (Tiger Road Crafts)

I wanted to give this book a neutral review, because this book is neither bad nor good.The book is not for the "very" beginners. It is assumed that the reader has some crocheting experience (knows how to do stitches, and how to read written pattern directions). Author also recommends experimenting with the yarn and hooks. Many beginners just want to start crocheting right away.Also, I (personally, not talking for others) prefer to look at the drawn pattern, not the written. For me it is easier to visualize how the thing should look like and where I am in the project.Cons: Not for beginners, no pattern drawings.Pros: Clear pictures of doilies that author actually made, the yarn and hook sizes specified for each project, final product dimension is specified.To summarize, this is an "OK" book which has interesting projects, but if you are a novice, you'll need to google tutorials

The instructions are easy to understand. I have only made two doilies, so far, but I will probably make all of them in time. I don't find them as satisfying as full-size doilies but they are fun to do if you just want to keep your hands busy for an evening or two. I am thinking that I might frame these doilies and make a wall-art display of them for something a little different.

This is great for beginner / intermediate crocheters. Nicely written patterns for a great variety of doilies. I agree with some reviews that it would be nice to have some drawings but I don’t think it’s totally necessary. I like that the book doesn’t have a lot of “fluff” and just good patterns.

I ordered this book because I'm getting into making doilies to pass on to my children and grandchildren, this book is clearly formatted, beautiful photos of the finished doilies, easily explained, and the instructions in the patterns are super easy to follow. This will become my "go-to- guide for making heirloom quality doilies... thank you so much for putting it together!!

Very pretty designs but I'm into the vintage stuff.

The directions looked very clear. I loved the different colors and types of yarn used for the samples. That really helped show the details and possibilities for the doilies.

Easy to follow instructions. Good variety of doilies.

Layout does not make it easy to follow whilst making the items, you can't print a pattern & you cannot buy a paper book of the patterns, Bit disappointing really.
