Great Chess Set
I first bought another set on amazon that had great ratings and stayed away from this one due to no ratings. Ended up being a mistake. I returned that set for this one and this one is much better in all ways.This is a really nice Chess set. The board seems durable, the pieces stay put when playing or moving to another room. You can turn the board upside down and the chess pieces stay in place.The magnets (least so far) actually stay in the chess pieces. (Something that did NOT happen with the board I returned).Another feature I like about this board is the Files/Ranks are marked on all sides of the board. This is really needed if you plan to study chess with books, the net or software/smart phones, etc.Would have been nice if they supplied an extra Queen of each color for pawn promotion, but not going to take any stars off for that, as it wasn't advertised to have extra Queens.I didn't get the checkers out yet and understand they are not magnetic. But its nice they are included. They look fine as far as I can tell in the bag.I only had the set for about a week, so can't say how it will hold up, but seems durable enough. I'll update my review if it don't hold up over time.I noticed I had to review this set as a toy. I actually find this set more of a real chess set that an adult could use for analysis and playing real chess games.Very happy with this set, highly recommend. Not sure why this set don't have all the glowing reviews instead of the 1st set I bought which was junk.

This is a great board for travel play
This is a great board for travel play. I love that the pieces are magnetic and that the set is small enough to take in my handbag. I have two recommendations: 1) it would be cool if the board had a locking mechanism, that way you don't need a flat surface to play on and can pass the board back and forth when taking turns and 2) resealable bags for the pieces so they don't rattle around in the case during travel.

Quality of this chess set is below par
The magnets fell off from several pieces. The board and the chess pieces themselves are fine. The quality of this chess set did not meet expectations.

Not all pieces are magnetic
The chess pieces are magnetic, but the checker pieces are not. I was expecting all pieces to be magnetic.
