I burned one on Christmas Eve and the other on New Year’s Eve as we have done in my family for years. These candles were amazing. They burned so completely that there wasn’t a single drip of wax and all that remained in the socket was a small nub of the wick. As they are real bayberry, the scent was faint, but pleasant - nothing strong and artificial, and they were beautiful. These will be the candles I purchase every year from now on.

I wanted pure bayberry candles to welcome the New Year. These are perfect. They burn cleanly to the socket, have no artificial scents, and are also packaged in a way that makes them a lovely gift for friends and family. This is the second year I have bought them and shall continue to do so in the future.

These are real bayberry, at least, they contain real bayberry wax. They burn cleanly, no drips, no smoke or soot while burning, and smell very subtly of bayberry: the real scent I knew from having had a bayberry bush once, not the fake perfume of artificial "Bayberry" candles that are the usual instead of these rare real ones. Some people will be disappointed because these, being real, have a VERY subtle scent, nothing liket the strong scent of the artificially perfumed versions.But rest assured, they are real bayberry wax. I had hoped it would be ok to burn them, and it was, for the first several hours, but after they burned all night on New Year (they do burn cleanly and slowly), by the wee hours, they were making me itch. I had had that same reaction after pruning my bayberry bush and inhaling the nicely scented leaves.These are really nice, would make a lovely elegant host/ess gift at a holiday party, or a cherished tradition to continue passing along. I'm truly sad I can't use them anymore.

These are the real Bayberry candles. They were burnt during colonial times, because they burned clean and did not leave any wax. They also have a very mild smell, which is indicative to a bayberry candle. It will not be a strong smell.

I love that these are bayberry candles and not just bayberry scented candles. They burn so cleanly. They were delivered so quickly. The packaging in great and they always look perfect when I pull them out for the holidays.
