Columbia Men's Silver Ridge Lite Long Sleeve Shirt, is perfect for both everyday wear and days out on the trail. It keeps you cool and comfortable no matter the weather. Columbia's casual clothing offers comfort and functionality for everyday wear. The high quality materials used to craft this are what make it so special, while its modern classic fit speak to style and comfort. This long sleeve men's shirt features some of Columbia's most renowned technologies built for prevention and protection while outdoors. Our signature wicking fabric in combination with the mesh-lined vented back make the shirt breathable; the unique fabric works to pull moisture away from the body so sweat can evaporate efficiently and quickly. The fabric is also treated with antimicrobial elements to protect against bacterial growth. Sun protection is featured within the fabric as well, providing UPF 40 sun protection against harmful UVA and UVB rays; this technology in particular works hard to prevent sunburns and long-term sun damage. Lastly, utility features on the shirt makes fishing life a little easier with a rod holder, multiple low-profile pockets, and roll-up sleeves. Columbia offers our Men's Silver Ridge Lite Long Sleeve Shirt in multiple staple colors and size. To ensure the size you choose is right, utilize our sizing chart and the following measurement instructions: For the sleeves, start at the center back of your neck and measure across the shoulder and down to the sleeve. If you come up with a partial number, round up to the next even number. For the chest, measure at the fullest part of the chest, under the armpits and over the shoulder blades, keeping the tape measure firm and level.

Nice shirt, runs HUGE, good color, less outdoorsy looking than many
The fabric is nice and soft and the "mountain" color is pretty true to the online pictures -- definitely blue but subdued and with a hint of grey. You could wear this color with virtually any color of short or pant. The shirt doesn't look as outdoorsy as some of the other similar Columbia shirts, which is a very good thing. These run HUGE. I am well over 6' tall and weigh around 175lbs with single digit body fat %. My chest is 39-40 inches and my natural waist is 32-33. A size SMALL(!) fits me perfectly -- wide enough on the shoulders, not too tight up against my armpit, comfortable but not sloppy in the chest. I'm typically between a medium and a large -- medium is often quite slim/tailored fitting, sometimes too tight in the armpit and/or not broad enough on my shoulders. Large is a more casual fit, sometimes sacky in the chest or waist areas. I can't imagine how sloppy a medium or (gasp) a large in this shirt would be!

Nice shirt, but odd sizing
Overall this is a good shirt, nice color and style and great for travel. But the sizing is weird. Columbia seems all over the place with sizes and for this shirt, the gap between an L and XL is very big. An XL is swimming on me, I can gather up like 4" of extra fabric. Yet an L is almost skin tight. I guess I either need to get fatter or skinnier...

Favorite Shirt
I'm 5'10, 215lb, and wear pants in the 33/34 waist size. I order Large in this shirt and the fit is perfect. This is my favorite shirt. I own the blue and green. I've owned previous versions of this as well. I call this my Adventure shirt. If I travel I wear these shirts, they dress up for urban settings, they dress down for exploring and having adventures. Tucked in or out, sleeves rolled up or down, I've never had a problem fitting in where I need to. I tour museums in these, I eat in 4 star restaurants in these, I carry a heavy pack on a trail in these. I've flown, rowed, motorcycled, swam, and just hung out in these shirts. The ripstop doesn't tear easily. It seems to dry quickly. I often wring it out in a sink, hang up overnight and wear the next day on trips. It doesn't wrinkle. It keeps you cooler than warmer, meaning, great in the heat, but it doesn't replace a light jacket when it get chilly.

Like a Patagonia shirt, but way less expensive
I bought a Patagonia shirt that is roughly the same color with the same material composition and UPF protection. It's a nice shirt, but I didn't really like the way it fit. As you can guess, it was expensive and I wasn't sure about keeping a shirt that I wasn't wild about for that kind of dough.I found this Columbia shirt as a possible replacement and I love it. The fit is perfect. The Patagonia shirt was weird. It was too broad in the shoulders, but too narrow in the biceps. I do lift, but I don't have Howitzers for biceps. I couldn't even get the sleeves rolled up enough to engage the sleeve strap; it just got too tight at the bicep. The Columbia shirt was just loose enough to allow me to comfortably roll up the sleeves and strap them in place. Nice. There are a few design choices I'm not crazy about, but it's small stuff. I don't really care for the collar or the cut off corner on the front pockets. Other than that, this shirt was practically made for my body. I'm 5' 10" and about, um, 185 lbs (hey, I'm bulking right now) and I couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Experienced ultralight backpackers swear by this shirt - also looks good off trail
I bought this shirt because so many experienced thru-hikers swear by Columbia Silver Ridge Lite. Well, I can see why: it's comfortable, lightweight, and as an added bonus it looks nice in a casual or even business casual setting. Some buyers seem to complain that it's bigger than they expected. I think it's well and generously cut but it isn't baggy or oversized on me. I also love the feel of the material, and it breathes well for me - I haven't experienced the clamminess that some reviewers have claimed. I will buy more of these if and when they're on sale.

I own several and they are great
I really like the lite version compared to the standard silver ridge which is also excellent. The difference is a softer feel with the lite and a cross hatch / rip stop pattern. The collar on the lite version is also more standard as the no lite version has an extendable collar. The vent opening on the lite version are larger and run vertically along the upper half of the shirt back. This doesn’t necessarily look better than the venting on the standard which is smaller and more along the arm pit but it does make for better ventilation.Bottom line surprisingly soft exceptionally cool and some nice colors to choose from.

Great shirts for active warm weather activity
Great shirts for active warm weather activity. I use them in the desert and wherever it gets hot. They breathe, and are snag resistant,. They don't stain easily, and do not retain odor when dirty -- and they look great at all times of the day. They run a bit roomy, so if you want a slimmer fit, order a size down. I bought both sizes in several colors since at times I prefer a roomier fit, others a more tailored slimmer look. Also the arm tabs for rolling up the sleeves are very useful. I never though I'd need them, but they really work to keep the sleeves secured up high. They don't bunch on the bicep or elbow. Perfect. The front pockets are roomy enough for sunglasses and most objects and the velcro tab keep things from falling out when you're super active. These are inexpensive shirts that are must for any traveller, film maker, or person who works or plays outdoors and wants a super lightweight shirts with venting and SPF protection. These are the best!

Light, cool, dries fast
This is a comfortable shirt for hot, humid conditions in which you have to keep covered against insects and/or sun. It is lightweight, packs small, and dries quickly. It has some well-considered features including partial interior mesh, ample vents, cut to allow motion without straining any seams, loops to hold up rolled sleeves, and pockets with flaps stitched down on one side and velcro'd on the other so the contents are very unlikely to fall out. Much as I am inclined to scoff at overdone clothing tech, this shirt does work well. The white color will get dirty, though. I got a grey one, too, which was a little darker than I expected; same review, but it hides dirt a little better while probably being a little hotter in bright sun.

For hot days and maximum protection from the sun.
This shirt is not as durable as my other shirts and has already developed little lumps of thread in one sleeve when going thru thorny brush. This was expected as it’s very lite material. It’s still my favorite go to shirt for hot days on the trail. I still recommend it for hot days and for it’s quick drying and cooling properties.” Extremely light and breathable. This shirt keeps you cooler then regular shirts. Drys very fast and very comfortable to wear. This shirt has more flex and stretch then my other long sleeve shirts in my hiking wardrobe. This is by far the best long sleeved hiking shirt I own. I’m extremely happy with this purchase. I ordered an other one but in a different color. I bought an XL and it has plenty of room.

J'adore!
Chemise super légère et bien ventilée. Je l'ai portée dans le désert en Jordanie et j'ai à peine sué dans cette chemise.Elle sèche très rapidement. Bref, c'est le confort absolu!

Flimsy. Not fit for outdoor use.
I've worn the Silver Ridge shirts for years. This is the worst version yet. It's very cheaply made and flimsy. This is hardly suitable for the outdoors,it's for people who want to look outdoorsy. The material gets caught on even the lightest brush. It's fit for going about town and nothing more. It's also slightly larger than my older Silver Ridge shirts (small). Stop changing the sizing!

Light and cool protection from the sun.
Soft fabric folds/rolls into a very compact size for travel cool to wear in moderate temperature weather (have not used in hotter temps yet. Sun protection quality was very good.
