Poor Quality
DO NOT PURCHASE! I thought this would be an amazing gift for my younger brother, I was so excited to get it in the mail today. However, I was so upset when I opened it and saw the quality! Outer cover is a slab of leather, not soft and pliable. It's not finished on the inside and very stiff all around. String to hold it closed is like a shoelace and is barely held on the cover with a small knot on the inside, seems like it could pull out really easily. It smells awful of chemical (from the stain that they used to make it look old, I assume). One of my other brothers does some leather work as a hobby and they do not smell this bad after he treats it with the stain. But what was most upsetting for me was the fact that it states it's parchment paper, this was a deciding factor in me purchasing this item. NO WAY is this parchment paper......it appears to be cheaply made paper, ink will definitely bleed through this (consistency of a poor quality hand-made paper). Paper seems to be pulling away from binding already and ripping when you turn pages.I was going to buy him a box of parchment paper and then I saw this and thought it was a much cooler gift idea.....don't buy it if you are looking for a quality journal with parchment paper. Dishonest advertising and a very poor quality item all together.

Nice but not as described.
The paper is not really what I would call Parchment, it is the soft, fiberous, homemade style of paper. Don't get me wrong - it is very nice paper, it just isn't Parchment. Also, the leather is just ok, kinda thin and stiff.

Thin material.
The skin is too thin. The holes are sometimes too closely put together. It s a hit or miss thing. If you get a clean example, keep it. If not, it might be better to return it before it crumbles.

Nice leather journal. Would have liked the tie to be leather not just a string, but otherwise it's a great product!
