Camera quality for video works great! Better than I expected! I make videos all the time and have been surprised by the quality. See if you can see a difference between my gopro 5, my gopro 3, and the ActiveON camera on some of my flight videos. Videos are on youtube, search: Chuck_KC

I purchased this camera in February 2016 because I didn't want to pay the high price a newer GoPro. After reading the reviews and researching the product, it seemed to have some cool, useful features. I might add that I do a lot of underwater video. I particularly liked the built in underwater filter, eliminating the need for an external filter. I have since brought the camera on two trips. Each time, when I used the camera in the water (on the surface I might add) I experienced the same problem. That is the digital zoom in the camera came on automatically on several occasions, without me activating it, thus ruining the video. I though perhaps it was an anomaly the first time it happened, so I let it go. Following the second trip I tried to contact Activeon to address the issue. I never heard back from them. I sent three emails to their "customer service" department, but I never received a reply. I am curious that I have read other reviews where it was stated that Activeon Customer Service was "good". In my case they were totally non-existent. Other issues that I have with the camera are functional issues. Unlike GoPro, the audio does not seem to penetrate the waterproof housing in the Activeon. It's not such a big deal for me because I hardly ever use the recorded audio in my videos, but it could be annoying to others. Also, when you put the camera in the upside down mode, it automatically resets when you turn the camera off. That means you need to go back in the menu and put it back in upside down mode if you remember to do so. This is very annoying. Bottom line is that if you're looking for a suitable replacement for a GoPro, buy a GoPro. Save yourself the headaches. I wound up doing that anyway.

If that says anything about the product and customer service.I've used this ActiveOn CX Gold for about 3 weeks ro a month now on a Sony suction cup mount to my 2014 Kawasaki ZX6R motorcycle and at first, I thought my mount was loose due to the video shifting left and right. Thought this was due to vibrations that loosened the mount somehow and the camera was turning left or right which would make the video not centered. Checked this at minimun, 4x today alone and the mount is SOLID.Ordered the ActiveOn CX Gold on 18 December while it was on sale for $193!! Paid a little extra for 3-4 days shipping. Total cost was $215 with taxes.Excellent packaging. Awesome product (so far).Wifi, 4 levels Field of View to include zoom feature is excellent to reduce the distorted bubble look. Excellent features for modes, lighting, and there is an APP on GOOGLE PLAY to help make things easier.The only gripes/complaints that I have is:This package does not come with an external battery charger. You must charger the provided battery while the battery is inserted into the battery compartment. Suggestion: Buy two additional batteries and the external charger that charges two batteries at once. Inconvenience for the consumer; additional product sales for ActiveOn.Although there is a provided USB Charger to charge the battery while inserted into the unit, the cord is approximately 18" at best. I use an extension with this charging cord to allow for maximum placeability.In addition, this sale does not come with an HD cord. So if you want to view your videos on a big screen TV, you will need to buy ANOTHER accessory that is not provided.Last gripe, which is really my biggest gripe....There is no external microphone line-in jack. So for anyone who rides and is going to consider this over GoPro, there is no external mic plug in. This seriously defeats V-Logging.I hope the next version adds this feature because I really want to narrarate while recording. Hard to do with wind resistance and no wxternal mic feature.

I had originally purchased only one of these to film my fireworks shows on a tripod. The quality of the picture was beyond expectation, so when I had seen this camera on sale again, I purchased a second. I put the camera on the night setting, with wide capture for the shows. I have not used underwater, so I cannot comment on its performance under those conditions. It does come with the harness for underwater filming, as well as a battery. I did upgrade my memory stick for additional storage space, but I hardly use much of what is offered. Good for what I need it for. Would recommend for anyone wanting a good action camera, priced for much than the others.

I bought one of these cameras several years ago and was very happy with it. So I decided to buy another one, but this one didn't work right from the beginning. It would record a scene and then, when I stopped recording, it would freeze and not even allow me to turn it off. It would drain the battery very fast because it was still trying to do something. The only way to stop it was to remove the battery. I found a number of other little problems like that that made it impossible to use. I will be returning it.

Excellent action camera, in both image quality and video recording in HD domain. very good battery life and also very good touch respond in back LCD, and very easy to navigate in main Navigation and find different options. Perfect for every use!

I like everything but the battery life, low light video is kind of meh for this price it's a perfect GoPro replacement for those of us on a budget
