Mrs. Miller's Amish Homemade Fig Jam 18 oz/509g - 2 Jars

Love the flavor and consistency! Nice size pieces of fig. True homemade flavor. Wish it was offered on subscribe and save as I don't want to run out!

I have always gotten great value from Mrs Millers and other Amish and Mennonite community produced products in the Midwest.They grow heirloom seeds not GMO and are reasonably priced from an area of the country that has lower price points on all goodsThe fig preserves are the best brand produced. Thick and sweet it makes great glaze for pizzas and burgers. So much healthier and not inflammatory choice than pizza sauce from tomatoes

I haven't seen fig jam in stores for years. I love the taste and texture of this jam. It's not overly sweet, and that's important to me.

This jam is tasty, but it's somewhat clumpy and on the "hard" side. I use it in my homemade yogurt so it works for me because I don't have to try to spread it on bread. It has the right amount of sweetness for me, and I think I prefer having a jam that's thick and on the dry side to having one that's watery and not very tasty. However, I think it would be difficult to make a peanut butter and jam sandwich with this jam because you'd probably tear up the bread trying to get the jam evenly distributed. Perhaps it would be okay on hot toast because the heat might soften it up some.

Good product at a good price-

I LOVE fig jam. This, however, has little fig flavor and a LOT of rind. It is flavorless and chunky. Tried to use it in yogurt as another reviewer suggested and would totally prefer plain yogurt. I will have a hard time eating this and may end up tossing it out. If zero stars were possible, I'd give zero for this product. Shipping through Prime was great as usual.

In the first trial I had of this from Amazon it was great. Maybe a bit sweeter for my taste than some French fig jams, but overall awesome. Excited, I called Mrs Miller directly and ordered a whole dozen of 18 oz. Well, I was a bit disappointed with that batch, as it is very dry, not easy to spread, and probably was burned a bit during processing. Now I am stuck with 11 jars that do not know what to use them for, probably would mix them with vanilla ice cream and walnuts, that may salvage them. Sooooo, to sum up, if they were like the original quality I ordered here, I would buy them anytime. Unfortunately, I am not sure how how would I know what I am getting anymore?
