Buy this if you broke your pinky toe!
I broke my pinky toe at the most inopportune time. My husband was 1 week post rotator cuff surgery, I was 8 weeks postpartum with 3 boys under age 4, a one year old lab, living on 20 acres in the spring time with two boys in soccer. When I tell you this shoe has seen some miles, I mean this shoe has seen some miles! At the soccer fields, Costco, mowing the lawn with a push mower, watering the garden, walking the dog and taking care of a baby, two toddlers and my husband who could not do anything for himself. This shoe allowed me to walk around with no pain in my toe even though it was broken and it has held up great even 6 weeks after purchasing! Best $20 purchase I ever made!

Game changer
This is the third surgical shoe I tried and while there are parts of it that I'm not fond of, the pros so out weigh the cons because it is miles above other shoes. The key feature is that, unlike other ones that claim it, this one actually has a rocker bottom. You don't notice the difference as much when you're taking a few steps here or there, but if you actually want to walk in it the ability to roll from heel through the foot to the toe makes you actually able to have a real gait. No it won't be as if you were wearing two regular shoes but the pace and lack of wobbling (from uneven legs and one not moving as the other) is such an improvement that people don't tend to notice I have the shoe on. Other shoes that claim to have rocker bottoms genuinely did not, or at least not nearly to this degree. Now the bottom is all hard plastic which makes it a little slippery and scratchy on some surfaces, though I have not slipped at all. Also heaven forbid you get a little bit of dust or gravel on your shoe and you are making scratchy sounds everywhere you go.I bought two of these because I wasn't sure which size and the one was deformed on the sole of the shoe. It's supposed to be completely flat but it had a large bump in it that would render it completely unusable to anyone recovering from a foot injury. I'll assume that was a one-off and didn't remove any stars because of it.It's worth noting it is slightly cushier than other shoes but still firm. Also, because it has a genuine rocker bottom, it is a little taller than other shoes. However it's still not tall enough that I can use the evenup on my other foot even on the lowest setting. I do notice the height difference, but whereas with the other shoes I started getting hip pain in my good leg, with this one, because I can roll off the foot so smoothly, there isn't as much jostling or downward motion onto my good leg so I don't get nearly as much hip pain even though the height difference is slightly greater. The sizing surprised me, I wear a women's size 8, 8 and 1/2 if I need extra width, and my toe goes to the very end of the women's medium. I should be wearing the large, but that's the one that came with a deformity so I went with the medium because my injury is not to my big toe so I did not think there was too much risk. Every other shoe I've tried on I've been a size medium or even small with plenty of room to spare, so these definitely do size smaller than others but per the size chart. But if you're close to the top of the range or in between sizes, definitely size up.

Game changer
Game changer! I got my big toe broken yesterday and prescribed a walking shoe from an urgent care. At the time I realized that I needed another shoe to wear inside my house, the urgent care already closed. I'd been walking without any support in my house for a day until this one arrived. I am able to do my regular household chores while my broken toe is moving less. The sizing chart is very accurate. I wear size 7 for office shoes and 7.5 for sport shoes. I ordered women M and it fits so well. In addition, it is HSA eligible.

Offers support to my toe
I had bunion surgery about a week ago, couldn’t stand wearing the boot the doctor gave me so I decided to get this. It’s easy to take on and off, unlike the boot. It does help in keeping some of the pressure off my toe. Perhaps not as sturdy as the boot but it works for me.

Good shoe, bad customer service
This shoe worked great for my post op toe surgery with a 📍 pin in my toe. I had to use it constantly for 8 weeks. Well the sole cracked on both sides after 6 weeks, and i am still wearing it now at 8 weeks post-op because I need it.I did contact Brace Direct customer support- email twice, phone call once with no response. No response whatsoever from Brace Direct. That is the reason for three stars. Otherwise great product, not sure why mine broke, i’m just a lady in my late 50’s walking around my house, office, and maybe grocery store. The shoe did keep my toes safe.

This was a game changer for a badly broken dislocated stubbed toe
Husband broke his toe, little one, in several places and dislocated it- I bought this so he could go to work, without injuring it further. This helped him tremendously, the next day he went to the doctor and the doctor said it was perfect to keep his toe stable while it healed. Yes he did tape the toes together, but this protected his toe and helped him not bend it during walking. The rocker was a great feature. I highly recommend.

Will work for intended purposes
Little long but it’ll be fine when I have surgery! I’m undergoing my fourth foot surgery this summer for a bone spur on the top of my foot. I’ve used surgery boots in the past (bunions and bone spur on ankle) and was thrilled when my surgeon said I’d just need a shoe this time around! I like to have backup so I don’t bring outside inside. This shoe fits well and I love that the Velcro can be trimmed. For size reference I wear a children’s size 3, so finding surgery boots and shoes can be difficult as pediatric is always too small and adults too big. This shoe is a little long, but when my foot is wrapped in gauze it’ll be just fine!
