Terrible Introductory Morphology Textbook
As a student, I was definitely not impressed by Katmba & Stonham's book. Their prose leaves a lot to be desired, and their coverage of morphological theory is, sadly, equally lacking. Seemingly every time our authors describe a particular theory, they backtrack and then completely destroy its foundations, leaving the introductory student to wonder, "what parts of morphological theory actually work?" From reading K&S, I can't give you a coherent issue on it, and I will instead gladly reject morphology as part of an idealized view of language where Phonetics, Phonology, Morphology, and Syntax all work on 'sepearate levels', when I would argue the reality is much more messy. Also I hate 'empty morphs.'
