Comptia Network+ Certification: Exam N10-006 (Certification Press)

This is the second book by Glen E. Clarke that I have used to pass a CompTIA Certification. After reading and using his Security+ SY0-401 book and CD, I knew that I was going to buy his Network+ book to prepare for this exam. Very well written and easy to understand. The CD that comes with this book is a great tool to assist you in preparing for the exam, use it along with the book in each chapter and then the 559 Total Tester test questions is the follow up that really hits it home.

This study guide is one of the best out there. Clear, concise, and well organized. Clarke lines up all the objectives you need to study for the exam and makes each subject easy to get through. I could not finish another author's study guide due to the unnecessary amount of outdated information and backstories. If it's one thing I can't stand with written study guides, it's the constant need to burden the reader with "Oh you will never need to know this for your exam, but let me ramble on for five pages about this outdated technology." Clarke did a very good job with this book and I highly recommend it for studying the Network+ exam.

I'm only a few chapters in, so I can't vouch for how well it prepares you for the exam; however, it seems well organized and well written, though it is dry, not witty. I'm generally very impressed with the test engine and videos you can download after buying it. However, the packet capture files required for some of the exercises are missing from the download and I can't find the 10% off test voucher that the product description claims is included with the book.The author responded quickly when I e-mailed him about the missing packet captures. He e-mailed them to me directly! If only the publisher was so helpful.

This along with other material online helped me pass my exam with a 750 after a failed first attempt. Some questions from the exam weren't on the book but that's to be expected. However I used process of elimination to help me with those questions. The practice exams really did feel like the real thing since they did help me with the real exam. I recommend this book as opposed to the Exam Cram one because this book is more comprehensive.

I bought this book for the 100% coverage of the test content. I also used Professor Messer's videos for review. I saw some reviews saying that the test was quite difficult, but honestly i was dissappointed at the lack of detail in the test compared to the content of this book. Some details in the book were different than the results i found online but i will give 5 stars anyway.

Good study book . I read Meyers book as well .Both have merits , but I like the way the material is presented in this book better . Also the 500 question practice test is very useful.If you're studying for N10-006 , I recommend you get both books . While most of the material covered will be the same , what you might miss catching on one , you'll catch on the other . Also ,the test questions are different , which is a big plus .Between both books and Professor Messer vids , I'm feeling pretty good about sitting for the exam .

Author provides a great book for study, but the publisher (McGraw-Hill) is horrible. This is the second book I have bought from this author on the Kindle and received the electronic files from the authors website, but McGraw-Hill does not give the other material promised (videos, pdf's, etc.). I entered the required information on their website for both kindle books and received nothing. So, I definitely suggest steering clear of all of the publisher's books on Kindle until they start providing the material promised with purchasing the book. If you look elsewhere, this is the same complaint that others have after being suckered by McGraw-Hill's lack of electronic book support.

I'm loving this book so far. It's very well laid out and detailed. Goes over every objective for the exam. Comes with disc that has the practice test engine, performance based simulation labs, and even the actual book in PDF for on the go.

Really worth it. The video training is an extra bonus.
