Step Reebok: The Power Workout

Oldie but VERY goodie!!!!
I can't believe I had not bought this sooner. I used to use this VHS tape workout back in the late 90's when I was younger in high school. Let me tell you that I can still do it just as good as when I was younger and I forgot how challenging this workout was!!! I am an avid step user (I own every FIRM workout, a ton of Cathe workouts, and love Karen Voight)..but when it comes to step Gin Miller is one of the best!!This workout is about 40 min long (not counting warm up and cool down)..it is SO easy to follow, but don't be fooled by the easy to follow moves, this will leave you sweating but feeling refreshed once you're done! I can honestly tell you that this is one of those step workouts that leaves you feeling like you've just burned 1,000 calories (not exactly the amount you will burn lol), and has had a good complete cardio workout without having to feel you need to do more for the day or use an add on...you won't need to with this one! (except abs if you want to do abs every day or every other day). Some of the steps are a little repetitive but Gin works it up and just when you feel you got the moves down she will go to the next challenging part! I use a 6 inch step, and it's STILL challenging! Someone who uses a shorter step may still get a very good workout! I dare anyone to use a 8 inch with this one!! One day I may just try that!! :)I'm a high intermediate-advanced exerciser and this one does not let me down one bit. Her cuing is superb and there is no dancy steps (which I prefer although Cathe is an exception but those who use Cathe will understand that she can be hard to follow sometimes at first with her step aerobics)..but I dare not to say....I truly think this step workout is more challenging than any Cathe step aerobics I've ever done (I still LOVE Cathe and she will work you good), but with this workout you cannot go wrong with the impact moves. It's a great lower body workout and boy do I feel it the next day everytime!! I remember back in high school I lost 10lbs in 3 weeks JUST using this video! SO happy to now proudly own in on DVD!!!Setting: Some of you as some reviewers has mentioned, it is a little "dated"..but sometimes I find more older dated workouts actually work better (like the FIRM Classics vs the newer ones for example). I just think back in the day workouts were actually "workouts" because I find using any of the older videos actually give me better results, maybe because they were much harder in some ways without being too complicated..I find more newer workouts these days focus too much on crunching for time or too much cheography that is complicated. But if you can by pass the 90's outfits and reebok shoes and MTV setting, you will get a true honest cardio workout from this. I'm even using my older Karen Voight workouts with this and some classic FIRMS and boy is my body changing faster then when I was in my 20's!The music is not up to date, but it has a really nice beat and goes very well with the step aerobics. Like many already have said: this is a little dated because it was filmed back in 1993. ;)The lighting is cool, its sort of like a night club and Gin talks on a tv so you can hear her very well while watching every step.Overall this is a solid A+ step workout because it really works you well, is under an hour, but high impact enough to get sweaty and the steps are very easy to follow. You can also modify a few steps, like when she jumps on the step, you can just do a step up instead. Or when they do power jumps (plyos), you can do squats instead. There's nothing you can't modify with this one (although in this video there is no one doing any modifications)..just remember-beginners do NOT use any step higher than 6 inches..and for those who are advanced, 6 inches is still enough to give you a fantastic workout!!!!

The BEST STEP workout -EVER!
Finally!! It’s on DVD! I haven’t been able to get my DVD/ VHS combo to play my VHS tape - just for this Reebok Power Step workout with Gin Miller. This is my ultimate fat blaster and no other workout video has worked as well as this one. Gin Miller is amazing! I found this at a sports store by chance (back in the 90s) when I was looking to get back in shape. Deal!I’d rather sweat it out with Gin than join a gym just to get my cardio. I was so upset about my VHS player not working, but I held on to the tape. Posting picture of the original VHS alongside the DVD. I know I’m not the only one looking for this one.

Feel the power
The instructions are at the end of the dvd watch that before actually doing the workout. I did the whole dvd today not going to lie this was a tough one stopped about 3 times in this 40 mins workout to catch my breath. Kind of hard to keep up once she starts pivoting but I can’t wait to get the steps down. If you’re new to stepping get the step Redbox dvd first then this one. And I think there’s one after this one too. First time working out in years can’t wait to see results.

WAY more involved than I wanted to be
If you are looking for a nice, not too strenuous workout. this is NOT what you're looking for. This is pretty intense. Bu, if you are looking for strenuous and intense, I think this is pretty well done.

Great workout
Back in the early 200s Gin Miller had a lot of step aerobic VCR tapes. This one I was able to find in DVD form. Great workout for anyone who likes step aerobics.

THE BEST
This is THE go to step workout. I've been doing this workout since it premiered , and have yet to find anything better. It has a beautiful filmed look, not that cold videotaped feel. The set looks like an abandoned film location, with Gin Miller's face on tv monitors, calmly describing the next move. The music is outstanding, a tribal influence that moves you along with every step, jump, hop or kick.If you choose not to do the power moves for whatever reason, you'll still get your butt kicked, FOR SURE.Great workout for weight loss and/or getting in shape. It's HARD, but try it, stay with it and you'll never regret it.

I have used this vhs video for years and love it. I ordered and then cancelled after reading all the negative reviews about the dvd quality. I am having my old tapes copied at a local store for a fraction of the cost and a much better quality. I suggest you guys check this option out yourselves.

Love this workout
I bought this tape last year when I was new to step, loved it and I'm sad that I can't find it on DVD at a good price. My VCR/DVD player stopped working and replacing that was way more expensive than buying a new DVD player. Anyhow, if you remember how cool it was to workout in these clothes, the "modern stage" and the music, then this dvd is awesome!! Watch the trailer on collagevideo.com. Gin Miller's cueing is great. The workout is very intense but the moves are not tricky, and the choreography is athletic, not dancey like the new dvd's out there!! Perfect for begginers/intermediates and advanced step people who want to feel the cardio burn!! It's also a great complimentary video to Step Reebok: The Video, also by Gin Miller.

A great DVD and solid workout.
Another solid workout from STEP REEBOK and Gin Miller. Following on from the basic DVD this adds power. Again, solid routines, with clear teaching and visual cues. A steady and appropriate pace for great technique whilst adding power into the workout. A challenge even for the fit folk. I love this workout.
