Could Not Be Happier With This Watch
tl;dr - This is perhaps the best-value chronograph watch currently available on Amazon (at the time of my review, on Tuesday, August 11th, 2022, it is listed at $339.00), and I can't say enough good things about it. 10/10I won't waste your time describing the chronograph features - those are (assuming you know what a chronograph is, and what it does) pretty straightforwardly described in the features above. It doesn't track fractions of a second, and it automatically turns off after one hour, but unless those features are something that you anticipate needing to access constantly, that shouldn't make any functional difference in your use of the chronograph.Similarly, if there if you've made it this far down the page, to the point where you're reading this review, then I assume you already know the basics of how the Eco-Drive feature on this Citizen watch, and on many, many others that they presently manufacture. If that is somehow not the case, basically all you need to know is that the watch is powered by light. Direct solar light is the best power source, but it does receive some lesser measure of charge even from indirect solar light (think cloudy days) or from artificial indoor lighting. This will save you from ever having to purchase a new watch battery. As I said, I'm assuming that you already know the basics of these features; similarly, I'm assuming that you probably have at least some measure of familiarity with the Citizen brand, and its overall reputation for producing quality timepieces. Having worn this watch daily for almost two weeks now, I can confidently say that this model is no exception on that count. The scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and the 20 Bar (i.e. 200 Meter) water resistance features ensure that, for most individuals, this watch can withstand all manner of daily wear while suffering no substantial damage to either functionality or aesthetic appearances. As the images provided clearly show, this is an exceptionally sharp-looking watch, which could be worn in both casual and formal settings without seeming out of place. It's a matter of personal preference, but I prefer metal bands over their leather or synthetic counterparts. If you did want to shell out some additional money for the lighter-weight Super Titanium version, which is otherwise virtually identical (see model CB5908-57E; this watch that I'm presently reviewing is model CB5898-59E), that is again a matter of personal preference, but the stainless steel case and band incorporated in this model have served me just fine, and the watch has not struck me as overly weighty on my wrist.Beyond these above aspects and features, however, what has really knocked me out about this watch in particular is its built-in atomic time feature, a feature that I absolutely love. While your usual quartz watches will remain at or under 15 seconds +/- per month, and the finest High Accuracy Quartz (or HAQ) watches on the market (most of which retail for substantially more than this present model) will remain under +/- 10 seconds per year, this watch, when adequately charged, keeps time "with a margin of error of one second every 100,000 years."It can do this because the watch automatically receives radio signals each night, ensuring that the correct time is maintained. If you are located in or near the continental U.S., these signals are broadcasted from the WWVB station near Fort Collins, CO, transmitting signal with a broadcast range of approx. 3,000 KM. As long as the watch is charged and within range of the Fort Collins station (or any of the global radio stations relaying the current atomic time) this watch will essentially never gain or lose any time, and never need to be reset. The perpetual calendar feature means that the days of the month will automatically remain correct, regardless of what month it is, whether or not it's a leap year, etc. Per Citizen, the perpetual calendar feature should remain functional through February 28th, 2100. I figure that, if the watch is still ticking by that time, my progeny can just set the date manually.I live in an urban area that is fairly built up, and I was initially concerned about whether or not the watch would be able to receive the radio signal within my home - to date, once the watch was sufficiently charged, that has never been an issue. If you aren't sure whether the watch is receiving the radio signal or not, you can check it by pressing the lower button, aligned with the 4:00 position on the dial, and the second hand will briefly swing forward to indicate either "OK" (the signal was correctly received during the last broadcast reception attempt) or "NO" (the attempted broadcast reception was unsuccessful.)I did initially have to manually correct the timezone, as it was set to PST when I received it, and I am located within CST. This took virtually no time, though, and it has remained correct since then. I suspect that the reason for the initial difference had to do with the watch being inadequately charged when I first took it out of the box. Once exposed to light, the watch was functioning correctly within just a few hours' time, and it has not required any additional adjustment.I had high expectations when I purchased the watch, having had an excellent experiences with my previous Citizen Eco-Drive watch, but this watch has surpassed any and all expectations. I really don't have any complaints or critiques about this watch thus far.If you're looking for a well-built, sharp-looking, supremely accurate chronograph watch that won't cost you four figures or more, this is the watch for you. It is a bit pricier than some of the other Citizen Eco-Drive chronograph watches that don't have an atomic timekeeping feature, but - again - if you are someone who cares about having the precise, accurate-to-the-second time, this model's value relative to its price is, in my view, unsurpassed.Bottom line: if you care about having the precise time, without having to constantly refer back to a screen constantly, this is an excellent timepiece, which I anticipate keeping and regularly using for many, many years to come.

great self sufficient time piece
Great men’s watch for the person who likes a great looking watch that is self adjusting. Just have to face the watch face towards sunlight or wear it. The cells will replenish the battery and that’s it. It is an atomic clock so it gets updated on its own by the signal sent out from Colorado. Should you be in a different time zone then a few moves adjusts for that if needed. A true grab and go well priced watch. 200m of waterproof function, DST, chronograph and leap year offset.

Impressive Watch
This is a great looking watch. It seems to be very good quality and nicely weighted on the wrist. I have only had the watch for a few weeks but so far I am very pleased. It is exceptionally accurate. The alarm is sort of a joke because it is very low and only sounds for 15 seconds. Also, the watch is kind of complicated to set. You will definitely need to download the manual to understand how to set the watch and use all of it's functions. However, once it is set, you'll never need to mess with it since it is atomic and automatically sets itself for time change and calendar. Overall I highly recommend.

Great watch
I have owned two of these and lost the first one several years ago. Unfortunately, with this one, I just ordered the secondhand was not working properly. I was able to fix the band on my old one so I will just keep wearing it. These are great watches. It must’ve just been an isolated problem with this one I just ordered hopefully

Beauty, Dependability, Accuracy
I purchased my first Citizen Eco-Drive watch over 20+ yrs ago. It was a "Black Eagle" and for over 20 years it took everything I could throw at it. I worked in a health care setting and subjected it to all types of bodily fluids, cleaning solvents, sterilizing fluids, knocks, drops, and assorted traumatic incidences that would destroy most time pieces. It kept perfect time and I came to trust that it would work regardless. My beloved "Black Eagle" finally died and could think of no better replacement than the PCAT. When I received my watch, I registered it and downloaded the manual. I watched a video that described how to set up the watch and within no time everything was done. It was so easy that I thought I must have made a mistake. I really like this watch. It is stylish without being gaudy. It is a great choice for any social setting. I can't be happier with my choice of watch.

Excellent quality and appearance. Complicated initial setup
The overall appearance, weight, and feel of this watch is excellent. I really like that it sets the time, date, and day on its own. My only criticism is the lack of printed instructions. There is a mobile app, which was a little annoying to use simply to learn how to select your timezone, set the alarm, etc. There was a lack of tutorial videos online. The watch is not intuitive to set either of those things without having written instructions. Citizen could do a better job here by simply putting a quick start guide in the box. Once set up, I have been happy with this watch and would recommend it.

Small wrist, still fits!
I'm a very tall and gaunt guy, still fits with adjustable bands, so it's already a great watch! I love how clean it looks and how it comes back to life whenever it is idle on its face for a bit. This watch should last for generations to come due to its immaculate quality. Thanks citizen!

great price, very high quality!
a bit hard to set up, just have to download the citizen app and follow the manual! also must remember that there is no screw down crown on this model! once pushed all the way to the 0 position it will still rotate normally, and according to citizen customer service, this is perfectly normal and water proof at that setting.great watch! had it resized and it might help you to know there are HALF links inside the removable bracelet! I had no idea there were half links that can custom fit even better to your specific wrist size.love this watch!! many features to learn and get used to, but I love that it is low maintenance

Exceptional watch - must have
very very accurate watch, once you have, you will have the since of emery second it wouldn't miss a second, of course as of Atomic time keeping, very different technology, even though I'm a automatic Swiss watch user with +/- 3 sec accuracy or best Swiss watch to get you +/- 1 sec, this one make me feel every moment in life, love that it's dials lights at night to check time while sleeping, LOVE IT and for sure must have in your collection

Beautiful watch,but
This watch is beautiful, but very hard to set. It will take time to get used to it. Very clear face. Easy to tell the time.

Works beautifully with zero issues. Love the looks.
I hope they never stop making this particular watch. It looks awesome and out of all the other ones I've tried to save money on, in the end it was a waste of time since I returned them all. I returned them because I didn't want to spend $600 on a watch but this was the only one I was in love with from day one. Had no choice but to fork it out but no regrets. It's still the only watch I want to wear. Looks elegant and definitely not cheap.

Just Received the Watch
I just got the watch and it is very nice looking. and it presents as a well made piece. If your eyesight is not good, you'll need glasses to read the print on the dial. I have a 7-1/4 to 7-1/2 inch wrist and this 42mm watch wears similar to the 40mm Vostok Amphibia that I was wearing at the time (40mm is my preferred sport/dive watch size). Given the lug-to- lug length of this watch (49mm) and the effective length which includes part of the first link on either side, it may not wear well on those with small wrists ,6-1/2" or smaller, unless you like big watch cases. That being said, the lugs are angled well down, which makes the watch sit very comfortably on my wrist. There are no micro-adjustments on the clasp of the watchband, instead, there are 4-small links (2 on either side of the clasp) that serve as a micro-adjust I needed to remove 2 of the large links for a good fit. The watch is almost 47mm wide from the left edge of the case to the tip of the unsigned crown. Even though it is 13mm thick, it does not wear high. The 171gm weight is also easy to get used to, if you are used to wearing automatic dive watches. .It is relatively easy to set the watch up (despite what some posters have said) using the instructions for the model # or movement # E660 on the citizen watch website. Anyone who has used a Casio or similar digital watch will have no problems. I am very pleased with the watch so far. I haven't had the opportunity to check the lume yet.

Nice quality timepiece
Watch was a bit difficult to set-up but the customer service staff at Citizen was excellent and walked me through the entire process. Placed the watch next to a window and it received the time signal no problem. I live in Vineland Ontario which is next to St. Catharines, so reception is no problem here.Bracelet is nice quality; went to a local jeweller who removed a few links to fit my wrist.Very happy with the watch; what you see on the Amazon site and on the Citizen site is exactly what you get. Register with Citizen for a one year extension to the 5 year warranty giving you a total of six years of coverage.
