More than I expected
This device was relatively easy to set up. I read everything I could find and watched a YouTube video or two and then got 6 Micron 2 tb SDD; put them in and took out the 6gb of ram and replaced it with 2-8gb pieces closed it up and started following the directions and before I knew it I was setting it up with Synology’s raid and it just works. I moved all my music files and documents from various drives and computers scattered around my house and I still have several TB of space left. If I stay out of record stores and pawn shops I should never completely fill it. All of the computers on my home network can access the DS620 slim and that makes me happy it also shows up on the iPad pros we have but we seldom access it that way. Speed is fast enough for playing music anywhere in our house. There lots of apps available and if I had a second home it is possible to access it from there with the appropriate software installed.PS I am in my mid 70s and not a former computer tech just an old science teacher who can follow directions.

Synology Products Are Terrible
Do not buy. You will lose your files on the regular. File permissions will change with each update. You’ll lose a day every month when you Synology inevitably goes down.

Came with incompatible RAM
I bought the 6 GB version and it was shipped with 2 GB installed and an additional 4 GB of RAM separate. The 4 GB stick of RAM is not compatible with the device and it'll refuse to boot if it's installed.
