What a clever thing .. really nice lock

This is an interesting review, one I have thought about for some time. I have had this lock for nearly a year and it has its positives. Firstly, It has repelled two attacks, the last one only least week, some kid going at it with a jemmy of some kind. It held. Secondly, it is so easy to carry on the bike with a strong mounting. Finally, other cyclists notice the lock and it inspires conversation. However, it can be really fiddly when locking up, there is a key to look after, the lock barrel takes some stoking to come out of its case in the cold and the outer case is so fragile I have already lost one half of it somewhere in history. That is all they are, though, fiddles. Nothing is smooth about the lock except the security aspect, which is top notch. It doesn't look that strong, and I was a skeptic when it came out the box, but it has survived two attacks (that I know of) so isn't that what a lock is supposed to do? Four stars, because I am in a good mood.

This is my third lock (I have three bikes!), and the same for my wife. The bracket mounts easily, on the new folding bike its mounted on the handlebar riser, and the lock itself is very secure, not moving even on rough terrain. You may want to secure the bracket with cable ties instead of the velcro strap if you want to make sure it doesn't come off (or if you are worried that someone may take a fancy to the velcro strap whilst the lock is in use). The lock itself is long enough to secure the bike to a rail, and sometimes my wife and I just lock the bikes together, one through the wheels and another through the frames. Very happy with these.

Seems to be a quality product. Easy to use & compact. We link 2 locks (to form a double length) which then goes around our bikes . Satisfied that it will stop the casual thief, the career thieves who go prepared may get through the lock.

This lock is so low security you are probably better off with a cable lock. Before I head out with this lock I thought it looked a little flimsy, so sort of gave it a test trying to bend it by hand, with it locked in a loop. I didn't even put all that much into it and the chain just easily bent. Given the lock was now ruined I decided to do a bit of testing to see how bad it is, and found this lock basically fails in every way a lock can. You can break this lock with a stick. Literally, putting a stick through to loop I had the chain broken within a couple of minutes. The links are also essentially unhardened - a junior hacksaw goes through one inside 30 seconds, and you can snip a link in 5 seconds with pocket size mini bolt cutters. Honestly I think yo are better off skipping this product entirely. If you are happy with something that can be quietly beaten by tools that will fit in someone's pocket then you are better off with a cable lock - they are cheaper and light and can't be defeated by a stick, and if you want something that is a bit more secure then maybe you should go for a better folding lock from a reputable brand that might actually be using hardened steel, or a D-lock.

Love how easy it is to carry around. It's convenient that you don't forget your lock, as it's always mounted on the bike—very neat and tidy. It also feels very safe; it looks sturdy and secure. Very happy with this; I would definitely purchase again and recommend it.
