Sue Dickson here: I bought this to replace a hand-held shower I could no longer adjust - broken plastic part. I use a shower chair and need a hand held with a long reach. Everything I needed to install the unit, as packaged, was in the box. My hubby needed a wrench to remove the old unit and separate the extra hose we had installed to lengthen the reach, BUT I NAGGED HIM (as I sat on the toilet lid) ABOUT NOT KNOWING HIS OWN STRENGTH AND ONLY USING HAND TIGHTENING TO INSTALL THIS ONE. I had already prepped all the joints with the included Teflon tape (plumber's tape) wrapping EVERY joint with ample tape. This tape performed just as any other - and I believe the person who said it shredded terribly didn't know the tricks to using it correctly. (I have lots of experience with this magical tape in my craft room.) I was actually very surprised at the heft of the hand held unit. It felt solidly built - thought the switch to change spray patterns feels a bit wimpy - and I used the unit to clean out the 'schmutz' from the shower floor after hubby left footprints all over. I also used it to fill a bucket for hand washables and rinse them after with no leaks anywhere - even when I stopped the water flow temporarily with the push button, and no issues. I can't address how the spray feels - I only shower every other day (don't judge) but I am sure it will be delightful!

Update: just over three months of using this I was in the middle of a shower and the hose blew up! Scared me and I was not rinsed all the way off yet. Had to get out of the shower and find the original shower head that came with the apartment and install that yo finish my shower... so although I love I am going to have to reduce it from 5 stars to 3...I got this because the water pressure in my apartment is not really that good and I would get out of the shower to find I still had soap in my hair. I found this and the reviews were good and now I know why! This is awesome! I love that I can stop the flow of water on the handset, to say lather the shampoo in my hair, this conserving water. I love that it has 3 different types of spray streams and the pressure is adjustable as well. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that is having water pressure issues.

I bought one for my guest bathroom, and a more expensive head for mine. When I got both, this outperformed the more expensive head by FAR...so I returned that one and got another of these. The streams of water are ULTRA fine...but...'soft' for want of a better word. Almost 'aerated' in a way. That does make for the one "real" negative though, as the outer streams cool off a bit faster than the inner while falling...making "getting in" a weird thing (chilly, then hot in the center). It's not really that big a deal though and once you're in you don't notice the temp difference as much at all. The perceived (what you feel) pressure is great...I have very low water pressure and volume at my house (entire place is 1/2" lines) and this thing made a HUGE difference in what I feel coming out of the shower head. I love the shut off option for bathing my dog, and my daughter uses it for my 8mo old grandson (pretty much the same way lol) as well. I also like that I can shut the head off before shutting off the water. If you have two valves like I do (hot/cold) it makes deciding which to shut off first (scald yourself or chill!) a non issue. I love that the hose is ultra flexible...and sturdy metal, which makes up for the head's lack of weight. Vinyl/plastic hoses are stiff and hard to maneuver...feeling awkward. Other than the initial 'wow, this is super 'loose' feeling!'...you don't even notice this hose at all.All in all, I highly recommend this if you have low pressure/volume, and want an overall comfortable shower experience. Higher water pressure in your home would make it even better. My only concern going forward is overall durability ($20 for all these features...SOMETHING has to be cheaply made!). If I have any issues though I'll update my review.Edit - IF YOU HAVE HARD OR WELL WATER....The streams/ports are ultra fine. Hard water plugs them very quickly. I'm on a well in the Appalachian mountains, and I have to soak mine in vinegar overnight once a month at minimum or it's virtually unusable. The streams spray in every direction and cool off immediately. They also become needle "sharp". This also messes with the selector for spray type.I'm not removing any stars, as this isn't the fault of the manufacturer...but I wanted to share for any potential end user. The shower it gives is worth a bit of cleaning to me...ymmv.
