I have been a watercolorist for 5 years, and I tried Dynamic Distraction's brushes which are AWESOME for watercolors. (A gift from my brother.) On the whole, I don't like acrylics, but I use them when I have to for other art projects. I decided to give these acrylic paint pens a chance because sometimes I need an opaque overlay to finish a watercolor painting - for outlines, highlights, etc. These pens didn't disappoint. I love the variety of colors (and especially that they include two blacks and two whites) and the pigments lay down and blend nicely. One more thing I think is important - I learned a little more about the company and I'm impressed - their mission is to help people develop coping skills for mental health and recovery through artistic expression. [Katey Z]I just received these paint pens today and I love them! They are fantastic and decently opaque as well as smooth- super easy to use! The selection of colors is great and I love the care that has gone into the packaging, including each paint pen being wrapped in a layer of plastic wrap to protect the other pens in case of leaks (there weren’t any). First, I will qualify this review by stating I only just got these and am trying them for the first time. However, they’re so great I had to write this now! I’m very sensitive to virtually everything, including breathing fumes of any kind or even getting it on my skin. These little beauties have no odor, they’re very easy to clean up, and they’re opaque and sheer, however you choose to use them! I attach a photo of a word I did on black paper with one coat only. I’ve tried every paint pen you can imagine, and they’ve been messy, smelly, and full of chemicals, not to mention the five minutes of shaking and tapping you need to do to get the color to even begin to appear in the tip. Two to three shakes and one tap and you’re ready to go with these!!! They are amazing! No gummy nibs, or paint everywhere, you have control here. They’re so inexpensive, too, it’s worth trying these acrylic paint pens that in every way but color coverage are as easy to use as watercolor!UPDATE: Dec. 2020- I found several of these actually are dried out, so I thought it would be great to “revive” them with water. The good news is that the tops screw off; the bad news is that mine were really really liquify and I couldn’t use them. You may want to try these and when you find the dried out ones put less water in?

I absolutely love these pens! I didn’t know these pens were missing from my life until these babies came in the mail. They are perfect for art projects where you want to use paint but need a more refined tip. They kind of remind me of micron pens but with a thicker tip, more colors, and they are obviously acrylic. They also work for day-to-day activities. I personally like using them for journaling. They don’t bleed, which is super important to me. These would be the kind of pens I would take traveling (I.e. they would be great for air plane rides since they aren’t messy). Honestly, it’s a great quality product, especially for the price. I bought another set after I received my first, specifically for on-the-go usage. Can’t wait to see what else this company creates!

Great color variety in an easy to manage pen-like acrylic marker. I could have used these for a project that I ended up using very large cumbersome chalk markers. These are small and comfortable to use, opaque and waterproof. I don’t know why sheerness is a rating here. It shouldn’t be sheer. There’s are not child’s markers. It’s for us grown up kids who like to color and paint!

I have been happy with all of my Dynamic Distraction products so far, so when the paint pens came on the market, I was intrigued. There are 24 different colors packaged in a cute bag. They are easy to write with, the colors are vibrant and the paint dries quickly. I highly recommend them!

Since these are paint pens I am happy to report that the pens are great for parking over underlying color. I think the white and silver will be especially good for my watercolors.I used all of the reds and pinks. Along with the greens and silver in the roses painting. The effect added both detail and dimension.The set came well packaged and arrived in perfect condition. All of the pens were easily charged and ready for use. The lids fit snugly snaping into place.

This is a beautiful set with an excellent assortment of colors. The packaging makes it perfect for storing the pens as well as giving as a gift. The paint goes on smoothly when writing and would work brilliantly for calligraphy on a variety of surfaces as well as painting on fabric. I am planning on giving another set as a gift.
