Would it make any difference to buy this and a pop filter?

I don't think it'll make a difference.Supposedly I heard that pop filter if better for recording and windscreen is better for live,but I use the windscreen for both and see no difference.I just prefer the windscreen over the pop filter.

I want a white one. Will I be able to spray paint this white without it changing the way it works?
