Very user friendly interface
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. It’s not my first dash cam and I am very happy with the build quality. I’ve had few mishaps with previous purchases. Camera is very light which might suggest that it won’t be very powerful, but I can assure you that this little piece of technology will pleasantly surprise you.The camera makes a high-quality video and has been very useful so far. Suction cap has different / new to me design. You need to twist it instead of “flip” mechanism. The camera is very well fixed and does not wobble, even during a drive through very uneven areas. On the other hand, it can still be removed from the holder with ease. The connections can also be easily reached, even when installed. The supplied usb cable is long enough for any vehicle. I have tested it with random usb cable and usb in my car. It worked without any hassle. The included power supply car charger) has a power of 2.1A and so that the cigarette lighter is not blocked, there is a USB port in the cigarette port itself. On the right side of the camera there is 4 buttons for operating the device. Bottom button is orange which indicates emergency recording. Going through settings was easy and intuitive. I have also tested functions such as parking sensors, works like a charm. Amazing amount of settings to change, easy to restore manufacturing settings. The 3-inch display provides a good picture even in the dark and the pictures including the license plate are easy to read. It is recorded on a MicroSD card up to 32 GB. Remember to buy MicroSD card separately as It is not included. There are many options like: taking photos, viewing recording, deleting recordings. You do not need a PC to operate it.So, just a quick recap below. Very stable and high-quality processing of the recording, no glitches so far. Fingers crossed. The fitting on the windscreen was so easy and intuitive. No problems at all. Same with taking the camera off and moving it to another car. Just easy.Camera will start up and start recording after ignition of the car. It will stop automatically after you switch off the car. No need to worry about it.I bought few cameras in last couple of years and I can easily recommend Apeman, I look forward to getting another model. Everyone in the household wants one for themselves.

High quality recordings day and night in a superb, value for money, package.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Back in June I bought a couple of Apeman dash-cams – a C880 for me and a C460 for my wife. I have other Apeman products and have been very pleased with their performance, so have no concerns regarding reliability and find them surprisingly well featured for the money. At the beginning of August a family member asked if they could ‘borrow’ a dash-cam for a trip, so my wife volunteered her C460 dash-cam. It’s since been agreed that the C460 won’t be coming back, so I bought this C660 as a replacement, being intrigued by the ‘8 IR lights’ and how they might affect night-time recordings. This C660 is small, discrete with a specification that belies it’s price – records in 1080p FHD, with a field of view of 170° - tech speak for it sees what you see; a G sensor to lock recordings in the event of an accident; good low light ‘vision’ due to its fast lens together with 8 Infrared lights; a warning to remind you to switch your lights on when light levels are low; loop recording; a parking mode that would record someone/something bumping your car when parked; motion detection to capture someone/something near the car when parked. It also offers the option of adding a GPS unit should you want to record your route and play it back on a map.Note – the parking and motion detection modes need the unit to be hard wired; easily done with Apemans add-on kit.Recording in parking/motion detection mode is really only of use if whatever causes the activation is within the dash-cams field of view, so if you are going to use either of these modes don’t forget to change the dash-cams position before you leave the car.It works great straight out of the box, but it is worth taking the time to set it up as you want it. It took me 10 minutes or so to get the basic settings sorted, and few minutes on a couple of further occasions to make small adjustments once I’d seen the video results.I’d suggest that when setting up the dash-cam initially – time, date, etc. – you do it indoors with the unit plugged in to a phone or tablet charger. A USB cable is supplied that’ll plug into a charger, and there’s a combined charger/cable for the car that plugs into to a cigarette or accessory socket. Usefully the car plug allows you to plug another USB lead into it, so if you only have one socket in your car you can plug your phone or sat-nav into the Apeman plug too. When installing the dash-cam, there’s no choice of either an adhesive or suction mount, its suction mount only, but it does its job well, holding the dash=-cam firmly with no movement/vibration apparent in recordings.Initially the suction mount is slightly fiddly, not least because a small adjustment knob impedes access to the power socket on the camera unit, but this is easily remedied by just unscrewing it and putting it back in with the knob on the right hand side.I found the best way to set up the screen position was to put the camera on the suction mount with the protective film on the mounts base still in place, hold the dash-cam up to the wind-screen until the angle to the screen and view are correct, then remove the protective film and stuck the unit on.Try to make sure that the dash-cam doesn’t have too much sky in the frame, as this can affect exposure as well as cause flare when the sun is in view.Apeman have helpfully supplied a little tool in the box to help poke the car power lead under the head-lining, etc. to keep things tidy.In use everything is straight forward, especially if you have taken your time to get the dash-cam settings and position on the screen correct. The video quality is very good, which is really want you need from a dash-cam. The on-screen menu and controls work well.I have attached a clip from recordings made during the day and at night, and also use of the 8 IR lights, which might not be as Apeman expected! The clip shows the units great wide-angle view and excellent low-light performance.I made recordings at night with the IR lights on and off. The menu allows you to manually switch the IR lights on and off, or operate via a timer. Other than some recordings showing a slight purple reflection off the inside of the windscreen a found no real difference in the quality – the Sony IMX307 is really very good on its own - but I came to the conclusion that it’s because (a) I live in London where even at night the roads are well lit, and (b) because my cars (dipped) head-lights automatically come on after dark (and I haven’t yet sussed how to turn them off!).Where I think the 8 IR lights would be effective is when there is no ambient lighting, which you can see at the end of the video where I took the unit into my back garden and filmed with the IR lights on and off. Additionally, in the event of an accident, you could remove the unit from your car and use it (with IR lights on) to film the scene and any damage. The unit has approximately 15 minutes stand-alone operation time via its internal battery. One thing I did note is that the video files do eat up storage space on the memory card, so I would recommend buying the largest available although a 32GB card will probably be ok for up to 5 hours of video. Apeman do not supply a memory card with the unit, so make sure you add one to your order.Whichever size or brand you buy, make sure it’s got ‘Endurance’ in its name, as these memory cards are designed to be over-written more frequently than ordinary ones. Loop-recording is a memory card killer. If you want a good, no-nonsense and very reasonably priced dash-cam with a GPS option, and/or aren’t sure whether you ‘need’ one and don’t want to spend a fortune, then take a long hard look at this unit.

Very good dash camera
I purchased this dash camera for my wife's car to replace an old one that was no longer working.I also purchased a 32GB Micro SD Card to go in the camera and set the recording settings to 3 mins loop. Once the memory card is full it will start to record over the old recordings.Set up was very easy using the side buttons to flick between the menu items. The cigarette adapter cable is long enough to go exactly where I needed it to and it also comes with an extra USB port on the adapter so my wife and still plug in her phone charger. The screen mount supplied is very good and attaches to the windscreen very easily and has not budged. The picture quality and recording stability are excellent and I have no complaints with the images at all.I will upload some dash cam footage at a later date when I can show both the day and night footage. All in all I am very happy with the dash camera and have to give it 5 stars because for this price you can't get any better.

Great night vision
Impressive part was it has very clear night vision. Absolutely brilliant compare to the one I had in second car.It has wide back display which is colourful and easy to see direct footage.Recording is brilliant, has 170 degree wide angle so covers both side of my car. And considering I have short from car needed wide angle dash camera and this one is brilliant. Does the job as it should .The other best part it has quite fast adoption to light, when coming out from tunnel or changed direction agains sun light it adapts recording straight away.In can take upto 32gb memory card, I have formatted my memory card once put it in as suggested on manual.Looping recording time and resolution can be changed depending from the purpose.Overall nice budget dash cam with nice picture quality and very impressive night vision.
