One thing
Only one thing wrong with this order -- the items had a use by date of 7/2023. But they work fine, heat up quickly and fit in a pocket.

works great if you use them correctly
They do not get as hot as I thought when you hold them. However, if you follow the instructions and leave them in a pocket, they warm the pocket perfectly. I discovered this when I left them in my coat pocket after taking my coat off. Went to put the coat on and I could feel the warm areas in the coat. I would suggest you buy a few single packs before buying whole box.

Nice and Warm in low temps
I had a friend give me these on a recess day at my son's school-had to work a volunteer shift at 5 degree wind-chill and regular temp of 12 degrees. Put these warmers inside my gloves and felt like little heaters! My hands survived sooo much better in the freezing cold! I loved them and will continue to have them around for winter outdoor activities. (do not recommend to anyone prone to heat related symptoms if illnesses like shingles or vascular illnesses?; ask a doc before putting directly on skin of anyone with illness relating to direct heat on skin because they will definitely heat up hands and feet).

5+ hours of heat if you keep rubbing them with your fingers
These are simply brilliant. I went on a 5 hour photo-walk on a below freezing day. Put one of these in each of my jacket pocket. My fingerless gloves (for operating the camera) were in direct contact with them when I stuck my hands in my pocket. Here is the IMPORTANT TIP: You must keep wrinkling these bags with your fingers every 20 minutes or so. If you don't, the activate heat quickly subsides. When it feels cool to the touch, wrinkle the packaging and you can feel it start heating up immediately. I did this, on and off, for 5+ hours. When I got home, I took a ThermoWorks Super-Fast Thermapen (Red) Professional Thermocouple Cooking Thermometer from my kitchen and measured the heat: 116F. Not too bad at all.I did notice that these are INEFFECTIVE if you just stick in them in the palm of your gloves or any other place where you cannot reach them and re-activate the heat by wrinkling the packaging. I suspect that the complaints on this page about these being inconsistent has to do with this behavior. Always put them someplace where you can get your fingers to them.

great for your back too
I live in Northern BC and used these for my hands until I saw a program about back problems and how some people reduce pain using heat. I put a hand warmer in a sock, place it in my pants on my lower back, wear a long shirt so the tail of the sock doesn't show. My back pain is connected to sitting and lying down. Sitting at work and getting up in the morning are very painful times for me. The lessening of my back pain is amazing when I use heat. The hand warmers are the best, they last longer and are warmer than the foot warmers. They are also much less expensive than those heat wraps one finds in the pharmacy section for what, 10 to 15 dollars for 3. They seem to last longer when I take them out and shake them up now and then. And, the heat radiates down to my legs and feels great when taking the dog for a walk in below zero weather. I just wish I could figure out a better way to wear it.
