How does Axtra 3.6-amp battery charger compare to Battery Tender 3-amp battery charger?

The Axtra acts as both a 6-volt and a 12-volt charger. However, it can also provide a constant 3-amp battery tender witch, when set, will provide a continuous charge over a long period of time. The 3-amp battery tender only provides a continuous charge but cannot provide a 6 or 12-volt charge. If you do not have a charger, I would recommend the Axtra as is it can provide both aspects.

I'm using Axtra battery charger to maintain 2 batteries over the winter. Is this Battery Tender reliable as Axtra battery maintainer?

My experience with using the battery tender is nothing but good. Pretty much set it and forget it. No problems what so ever. Very easy to use, very well made, very reliable. I would for sure buy another one.

Is this over rated for motorcycles

If the battery is rated less than 30 amp hrs, I would say yes. The rule of thumb is the maximum charge rate should not excede 1/10 of the battery's Amp hr rating. E.g. 20 amp hr battery should not be charged at over 2 amps

Planning to connect black to black and red to red pigtail for car battery still inside car. Confused since not sure if that’s grounded. Pls confirm?

Yes, Red to Red (positive) and Black to Black (negative) is the correct connection. Why are you worried about ground on a 12 volt car battery?
