Easy to use and looks like it will work
Bought to connect an extention cord to my new birdbath deicer. It was easy to install and looks like it will work. Only thing is the deicer cord is a bit smaller than the hole in the connector. There isn't a rubber gasket on the hole so it looks like water could possibly get in. Since it is being used very close to water I ran some plastic tape around that end for extra protection. It comes with a foam gasket that fits between the two plugs to waterproof the connection.

easy and convenient to use.
I used to wrap the the plugs for my birdbath heater in plastic and then tape the ends with duct take, but it was always messy and the bags would sweat. These work very well to insulate the plugs from the elements. They are not water-tight, but they need not be since I don't submerse the plugs and since I position them so that there's a minimal chance that water would run inside them.

Only useful if you're leaving the cords permanently connected; not waterproof, and the foam shreds easily
I bought this because I wanted the connector itself to be waterproof. It isn't; it's just loose-fitting plastic. The "waterproof" part of the connector is that there's a piece of foam, really cheap and not well-designed, that loops around the male end's cord (and gets shredded by the plastic housing every time you disconnect or re-connect the plugs), and so when the two are together, being mashed together by the plastic thing, that's waterproof. But if you have two cords you have to periodically disconnect and reconnect, there's no way to keep the female cord end from getting full of water. This won't do a thing about that, so when you re-connect them, you'll get a short. Useless if you're not going to have the two cords always connected. But I suppose if you had two cords you had to always leave connected outdoors, this would do the trick. It is pretty sturdy. But the "waterproof" claim is solely due to that chintsy flimsy little piece of foam that you're going to have to replace with something better that you find somewhere else if you use this thing for any kind of long-term thing, or if you ever have to unplug and re-connect the two cords, like ever.I use a plastic shopping bag over the top of this thing, which basically serves no function really but I missed my return window, so I have this thing now.

I doubt I'd buy it again
I used this product for its intended purpose. Of course it is only minimally water resistant because it has seams without seals and is open on both ends for the electrical cords to go through. If you lay it flat and make sure the the seams are to each side and not laying in such a way that water will get inside or pool and flow right inside, it works OK for the few weeks it is in use. I definitely wouldn't recommend it for any extended use because it is open and spiders can easily get inside and nest, or some other insect. I don't expect I would buy it again. It might be better than nothing, but not by much. This is a product that could be greatly improved upon with some careful thought.

Connector does not fit 10/3 outdoor extension cord
I like the product as it will enable me to connect two extension cords together to run my Snowblower. However, the part of the connector that fits over the cord is just 1/2 inch. That is big enough for a 12/3 outdoor extension cord. But, my 10/3 outdoor extension cord needs a 5/8 inch hole diameter. After drilling out the hole with a 5/8 inch bit, the 10/3 cord was able to fit. Aside from that, everything is okay. It would help if there were some specs in the product somewhere stating what the maximum cord sizes were.

Not water tight.
These are not water tight at all, both ends where the cord goes in are wide open, no seal there at all, just a neoprene gasket that goes on the male plug end. They do have a nice locking feature so your cords won't come unplugged and seems pretty rugged, we'll see how it fares in through the winter.

EXCELLENT OUTDOOR EXTENSION CONNECTOR❗️
I thought I would have to invent this product, but found it on Amazon & well worth the money. Very easy to put together, this connector fits easily around your connected extension cords & prevents any moisture from getting inside. Once connected, you can safely leave the connected cord on the ground or buried in snow, without worrying about a short. We have had some torrential rainstorms & no problems with the connection. Dry as ever!

Needs a RubberWasker
I gave this product a 3 star rating as it is not water proof. It is easy to put together but the ends where the cords go in have no seal on them. I had to use electricians tape to keep the cords dry. A simple rubber washer would give it a much higher rating.
